[The title is our and not of ONE PETER FIVE} Part IV The Brazilians: Bishop Geraldo de Proença Sigaud and Bishop Antonio de Castro Mayer Jerome Stridon April 5, 2025 Bishop Geraldo de Proença Sigaud Note from our PCOI website: We have only used a few excerpts from this publication. To read the full text, click here. The two Brazilian (and only non-European) members of the five-man steering committee of Coetus Intertionalis Patrum – the group of doctrinally conservative Council Fathers who sought to save what could be saved at Vatican II – were similar men in both their cursus and in their theological and political outlooks on the eve of Vatican II. Their responses to Rome’s letter soliciting their vota (wishes and suggestions) for Pope John XXIII’s ecumenical council mostly overlap. These were Archbishop Geraldo de Proença Sigaud of Diamantina and Bishop Antonio de Castro Mayer of Campos. While the latter became better known after the Council for being the only Latin-rite bishop …More
When we started Gloria.tv almost twenty years ago, we had no idea that you were supposed to have serious start-up capital and a polished financial plan. Thank God we didn’t know! In hindsight, we believe that it is an act of Divine Providence that Gloria.tv has worked all these years. Being chronically underfunded has taught us: - to complain and whine to Saint Joseph - to count every penny and dispense with necessary equipment - to trust in God, because we never lacked what we needed to pay our bills, not once. We can't express how grateful we are also to YOU for that! The upside of lacking a business plan is independence. There are no favours to return, no hidden sponsors waiting for a call-back, and no tribal axe to grind. Gloria.tv is beholden to God and, at its best, serves the Church, the truth and, at least, freedom. As a social media platform, Gloria.tv is unique among Catholic sites and thus makes a real difference online. Just like 18 years ago, we still don't have a Plan …More

When leaving Castel Gandolfo yesterday, Pope Leo XIV was asked by journalists why, unlike his predecessors, he had not prayed inside the Blue Mosque in Istanbul on 29 November. "Who said I didn't pray?" Leo XIV replied. “They said I didn’t, but I already explained on the plane – I mentioned a book – and perhaps I am praying even now.” The book in question was 'The Practice of the Presence of God' by Brother Lawrence. Leo XIV added that it is a matter of style and place of prayer, and that his favorite place to pray is a Catholic church in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. He called it "curious" that this moment had attracted so much attention. When asked when he will move into the Apostolic Palace, Pope Leo XIV said: "There is no date yet. I am comfortable where I am, in the Holy Office." Regarding US President Donald Trump, Pope Leo XIV believes that he is trying to break the "alliance" between the United States and Europe. He said: "The recent remarks made in interviews about …More
Leo XIV on his visit to the Blue Mosque in Istanbul: "But who said I didn't pray? People claimed I didn't pray, but I had already responded to that on the plane: I mentioned a book and said that it may well be that you are praying even at this moment, do you understand? The nature of prayer depends on the moment and the place. Personally, I prefer to pray in a Catholic church, before the Blessed Sacrament; but if this moment caused such a stir, it seems a little strange to me."
Leone XIV manda in tilt i …
Pope Leo XIV says he thinks Donald Trump is trying to break apart the alliance between the United States and Europe: “The remarks that were made about Europe also in interviews recently, I think, are trying to break apart what I think needs to be a very important alliance today and in the future.”
Christians have been sentenced to annihilation, because even Protestants, who greatly contributed to the destruction of the Catholic Church, know some fragment of the teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ. And the system wants complete destruction and erasure of this teaching from memory. This teaching is the key to the Truth, and therefore to the inner temple, to the spiritual world where you become an uncontrolled, independent, peaceful soul waiting for the fall — which will certainly come, like every fall of an empire built on human ideologies. And it does not matter whether in human eyes these ideologies are good or bad. The fall is inevitable. People always eventually build the tower of Babel, even though they begin with a beautiful cathedral.
What happens when a person converts from one religion to another, or abandons religion altogether? A major new report charts exactly this, and a big finding is that “Conversion into Christianity appears to provide meaning, coherence, and social integration, whilst leaving the faith often coincides with disorientation and emotional decline.” This stands to reason. When a person converts to a religion, in this case Christianity, a major reason is that they are seeking meaning. But when a person leaves Christianity for atheism or agnosticism, neither will offer the same sense of meaning or community as religion. “The Changing Landscape of Faith in Britain: Rebirth, Renewal and Reimagining” report by the Institute for the Impact of Faith in Life, focuses on those who have changed their religious identity in Britain. As mentioned, this can involve leaving religion altogether or switching to a new one. A total of 2,774 adults who self-identified as having experienced a change in their …
You are looking at a face that hasn't been seen in 15,000 years. In 1911, workers in a limestone cave in southwestern France struck their pickaxe into the ground—and shattered a skull that had been resting there since the last ice age. What they had found would become one of archaeology's most fascinating mysteries. The skeleton was remarkably complete. Based on the size of the pelvis, scientists believed it belonged to a woman. But her wisdom teeth hadn't erupted, leading them to conclude she was young—perhaps only a teenager. They named her the "Magdalena Girl."For decades, that's what everyone believed. A young woman who died at the threshold of adulthood, 15,000 years ago.But science doesn't stop asking questions. When researchers conducted modern X-ray scans, they discovered something extraordinary: her wisdom teeth hadn't failed to erupt because she was young. They were impacted—trapped beneath the gum line. This was the oldest recorded case of impacted wisdom teeth in human history …More

Prevost @Pontifex_es Great is the gift of the Immaculate Conception, but so too is the gift of Baptism that we have received. Wonderful is the "yes" of the Mother of the Lord, but ours can be as well, renewed each day with fidelity, gratitude, humility, and perseverance in prayer and in concrete works of love. Father Federico Palma @PadrePalma Translated from Spanish What bad taste to put "buts" or objections to the most important day of the Most Holy Virgin Mother of the Redeemer. But everything is for the "ecumenism" that arose from Vatican II, in order to curry favor with the Protestants, among other things. Prevost:"All Religions Are Mothers. All Believers are Brothers" Prevost promotes heresy on matters of faith and morals.
