Let’s talk about the “sign of peace.” If you’ve been to the Novus Ordo Mass, which most Catholics today have, you already know how this goes.
The priest says something like “let us offer each other the sign of peace,” and suddenly the whole church kind of lights up. People are turning around, shaking hands, waving, doing little peace signs, sometimes even walking across aisles. It becomes this mini social moment right in the middle of the liturgy. And here’s the uncomfortable truth, that’s not actually what the “sign of peace” is supposed to be, at least not historically, and not even strictly according to the rubrics.
First off, nowhere does it say you are required to shake hands with everyone around you or throwing peace sign to aunt Judy. That’s already a modern assumption. What’s even more important is understanding that the “sign of peace” is not originally about casual greetings or human interaction in the way we treat it now. In the ancient Roman Rite, what we now call the …More

NO COFFEE! US armed forces are running out of food as the planned four-day plan to “take out Iran” enters its seventh week. Vegetables, fruit, and all fresh produce has gone – and tiny meals are being served on empty meal trays on warships, USA Today reported. And there’s no coffee – something many Americans consider more important than food. . 'MYSTERY MEAT' One dinner on the USS Abraham Lincoln this week was boiled carrots and two pieces of “mystery meat”, while sailors on the USS Tripoli had a scoop of shredded meat and a tortilla as a meal. Frantic family members have been trying to mail food to troops. “But mail delivery to military ZIP codes across the Middle East has been indefinitely suspended,” the newspaper reported. The warships have no internet service, but when a pocket of connectivity opened up, one parent, Dan F, got updates. “After his daughter told him the coffee machine on board had broken down, Dan said he stopped drinking coffee in …More

The testimony of Catalina
on the Holy Mass

In a marvelous catechesis, the Lord and the Virgin Mary have been instructing us first on how to pray the Rosary, that being to pray it with our hearts, and meditate and enjoy the moments when we encounter God and our Blessed Mother. They have also instructed us on the way to make a good confession and, in this document, a teaching on what happens during the Holy Mass and how to live it with our hearts.
This is the testimony that I must and want to give to the whole world, for the greater Glory of God and for the salvation of all of those who want to open their hearts to the Lord. It is also given so that many souls consecrated to God will rekindle the fire of their love for Christ, some of whom are the owners of the hands that have the power to bring Him to our world so that He can become our nourishment. It is also given for others so that they break lose of the “routine practice” of receiving Him, and relive the amazement of their daily …More

The Holy Mass
Explained to Catalina by Jesus and Mary

français
Catalina Rivas of Cochabamba, Bolivia, who now dwells in Mérida, Yucatán, México. She is said to receive Messages from Jesus, Mary, and the angels. She has the approval of her Bishop, René Fernández Apaza, who has given his imprimatur to her Messages. The following text is the reproduction of booklet, “The Holy Mass,” in which Our Lord and Our Lady explain to Catalina what is really going on during the Mass in the spiritual realm, and how we should be more concentrated on the great mysteries that are taking place.
Bo. Daniel Gagnon, OMI, of the Commission for the Doctrine of the Faith of the Archdiocese of Mexico, wrote about this book: “I do not find anything against the faith or the customs of the Church. It is not my function to confirm its supernatural character; nevertheless, I recommend it for its spiritual inspiration.”

Brazilian Bishop: Young People Have Right to Traditional Liturgy

Young people have the right to more traditional forms of liturgical experience, said Bishop Joel Portela Amado, 71, of Petrópolis, at a press conference of the Brazil Bishops in Aparecida, according to AciDigital.com.
A journalist asked about a possible “return” of the Mass in the Roman rite and spoke about “young people who kneel to receive Communion” and “wear veils”.
Bishop Joel replied it is important to consider broader trends, citing 2022 census data showing the highest number of people without religion is among those aged 19 to 39.
“It’s not that they don’t believe in God. They are ‘unchurched’ - they believe in God, but lack a concrete path within the Church,” he said.
Bishop Joel suggested this can lead young people to seek religious reference points, sometimes in past forms they did not grow up with.
For him, such “diversity” is legitimate: “Do they have the right to be like this? Yes, because Catholicism is plural by nature, especially in a deeply plural world,” he said. …More

In other words, Catholics have the right to the true Mass. Who would have thought?

Ave Crux

"They are ‘unchurched’ - they believe in God, but lack a concrete path within the Church,” he said. Bishop Joel suggested this can lead young people to seek religious reference points, sometimes in past forms they did not grow up with." No, actually, it's because they finally find the transcendent, the supernatural, the Divine, "the true, the good and the beautiful" in the Traditional Latin Mass, vs. the pure, horizontal humanism of the Novus Ordo. Grace operating in young, idealistic, fresh souls who want something more than what this world offers.

🔥 April 19th - Saint of the Day: Saint Alphege of Canterbury, Archbishop, Monk & Martyr 🔥
What kind of man refuses to buy his own freedom because that money belongs to the poor? Saint Alphege did. 💔 He was an Archbishop of Canterbury, a monk, a shepherd of souls, and a martyr who chose faithfulness over survival. When pagan captors demanded a huge ransom for his release, he would not let the Church’s resources be spent on saving himself while the poor still suffered. That is the kind of courage that stops people in their tracks. ⚔️🙏 His story is intense, heartbreaking, and unforgettable. A holy bishop captured during the sack of Canterbury. A shepherd who begged mercy for his people. A saint who faced a brutal death rather than betray the Gospel he preached. Saint Alphege proves that real Christian love is not soft, shallow, or convenient. It is sacrificial. It is fearless. It is real. 🕊️🔥 This is one of those Catholic saint stories that hits hard because it asks a serious …More

Sant' Elfego (Elfege) di Canterbury Vescovo - Festa: 19 aprile
954 - 1011

In this powerful face-to-face interview, Mary Phagan-Kean — great-niece and namesake of 13-year-old Little Mary Phagan — shares the uncensored family story of one of America’s most controversial crimes: the 1913 sex murder of Little Mary Phagan inside Atlanta’s National Pencil Company.
Convicted of the brutal rape and murder was Leo Frank, the factory superintendent and local B’nai B’rith president. His case became a national flashpoint, sparking intense accusations of antisemitism, racism, and a media war between North and South. It directly led to the founding of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) in 1913.
Mary Phagan-Kean, who was named after her great-aunt and only learned the full story at age 13, opens up about her decades-long personal investigation. She reveals:
How she discovered the truth through original 1913 newspaper accounts rather than biased later books
Her extensive personal archive, including trial evidence, family photos, and artifacts (many now preserved at Georgia …More

Papst-Reden keine Trump-Schelte

The Warmongers Have Their Greek History All Wrong
nytimes.com/2026/04/19/opinion/trump-war-thucydid…
Dr. Patrick directs the Global Order and Institutions Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
Members of the Trump administration have been channeling their inner Thucydides, paraphrasing the Greek historian’s aphorisms about the pitiless realities of power in a world of self-interested nations.
In January, the president called the unilateral military intervention that ended in the kidnapping of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro an example of the “iron laws that have always determined global power.” Challenged about the U.S. operation, the White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller mocked Jake Tapper on CNN for his naïveté about “international niceties” like the United Nations Charter. “We live in a world, in the real world, Jake, that is governed by strength, that is governed by force, that is governed by power.”
The Iran war has only reinforced these instincts …More
