A few months ago we produced a short film about the situation of Christians in Iraq. This video gives some background to the recent tragedies, where more than 60 Christians in the country were killed.

Greetings fellow pilgrims - Only yesterday afternoon an Assyrian Christian recounted to me the story of the kidnapping of a 3-year old child. The parents paid the ransom and a delivery arrived soon after at their doorstep - a platter with the head of the child on a bed of rice. A beheading is the calling card of the Sunnis; and the favoured signature of the Shias is a “Black & Decker“ to the head. At a local church tonight, Iraqi Christians (Syriac Catholic) will gather to remember their relatives who were slain in the Cathedral of Our Lady of Deliverance - may the souls of the departed rest in peace. The sad reality is that Christians are being persecuted by zealots in Israel (Jews), India (Hindus), Pakistan (Muslims) and Sri Lanka (Buddhists). I thank God that us Christians have put away the firelighters for the time being. A man of letters once gave me good advice before reading any secular book - ALWAYS check the background of the author, their publishing house, and any back cover endorsements.
