Our Lady of the New Advent - December 16th, 2025 | No Greater Delight No Greater Delight is a daily Marian podcast meant to start the day with a Marian touch. After examining the Marian feasts celebrated throughout the world on a given day, Fr. Nate offers a brief reflection to help make our love for Our Lady concrete in daily living. The title "No Greater Delight" is inspired by a homily of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, wherein he expresses his joy in preaching about the Virgin Mother, even though he acknowledges the challenge of adequately praising her. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing: The Powerful Christian Message Behind the Carol | Catechism for Kids “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” is one of the best-loved Christmas carols in the world — and its message is deeply rooted in the Christian faith, even though it did not come from the Roman Catholic tradition. Written in 1739 by Charles Wesley, a founder of the Methodist movement, the hymn was later revised by George Whitefield, another Protestant preacher. The famous melody was added much later by Felix Mendelssohn, a celebrated composer of Jewish heritage. Even with this diverse background, the lyrics of the carol beautifully express truths that Catholics also hold dear: Jesus is God made man His birth brings peace between heaven and earth Christ comes to save us and restore creation This child-friendly episode helps kids understand: Why the angels sang on Christmas night What the Incarnation means — God becoming human How Jesus brings peace, joy, and hope to the …More
Firing Tucho is a benchmark for Leo XIV: New York canon lawyer and priest Gerald Murray is urging Pope Leo XIV to remove Cardinal Víctor “Tucho” Fernández as prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith. Speaking with journalist Raymond Arroyo, Rev Murray called Fernández’s recently resurfaced pornographic writings “a total disgrace” and “a horrendous production done by a priest”. Tucho is “completely unsuited to be a pastor of souls”. Rev Murray recalled that Pope Francis justified Tucho’s earlier books as writings of a younger priest. However, the newly revealed books were written until 2009, when Tucho was aged 46: “If we were doing a profile, a criminal profile, about a sex abuser, and I’m not saying he is a sex abuser, but if you saw this literature coming out and you would say to yourself, ‘Well, it’s quite clear that the sex abuser got started a long time ago.’” The conclusion: “He should be fired.” And: “This is going to be a benchmark for Pope Leo XIV. Vatican Nativity Unveiled in St. Peter’s Square: Today, the Vatican inaugurated the nativity scene and lit up the Christmas tree in St Peter’s Square. This year's nativity scene was created by the Diocese of Nocera Inferiore–Sarno, which has close links to St Alphonsus Maria de Liguori. His relics are venerated in Pagani, within the diocese. The nativity includes a figure of the saint, who founded the Redemptorists and wrote the Christmas hymn “Tu scendi dalle stelle”.
Il bellissimo Presepio Vaticano di quest’anno, con figure in legno intagliate a mano realizzate nella diocesi italiana di Nocera Inferiore-Sarno, è stato inaugurato questa sera. Comincia davvero a sembrare Natale!
I can't find one link from the SSPX showing the SSPX Chapels in Russia. Something is not right. I love the SSPX but they are not being honest when it comes to Russia. Not only that, but trying to search for a Chapel in Russia is impossible. They don't list even one, when I know there is at least two of them. Why don't they mention even one Chapel in Russia? Josef Schuztman has mentioned the one he attends and I believe another one in Russia. This is from a Russian site where they mention where the SSPX Chapels are. They list at least 3 in different cities. But not how many there are. The largest number of Brotherhood followers are concentrated in France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The Superior General of the Brotherhood is the Italian priest Davide Pagliarani, who succeeded Bishop Bernard Fellay. The Brotherhood's chapels of St. Pius X are also located in Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Minsk. Священническое братство святого Пия X — Википедия
I remember my Mother Superior asking me once if I wanted to join the SSPX in France when I was having issues with the convent I was in.., I had no tolerance of the Novus Ordo and apparently that was a problem. I thought, it being a more traditional kind of convent they would be more like-minded to me, but apparently, I was quite alone in my traditional thinking.. me and the chaplain, and he was having disagreements with the Superior over it all. most of the time there was a daily TLM there, approved by the diocese, but the Superior also made it clear in her view "the Mass was the Mass". The other sisters, whatever their true thoughts were on the matter, never made it explicit they were in tune with my way of thinking. A torturous situation to be in over the long term, in a Carmelite convent where no two convents are alike, and there is outright persecution in the worldwide Church going on over this very issue.
Pope Leo XIV decries antisemitic violence following yesterday's deadly Islamic terrorist attack in Sydney: "Dear brothers and sisters, the Nativity Scene and the Christmas Tree are signs of faith and hope; as we contemplate them in our homes, parishes, and public squares, let us ask the Lord to renew within us the gift of peace and brotherhood. Let us pray for those who suffer because of war and violence; in particular, today I wish to entrust to the Lord the victims of yesterday's terrorist attack against the Jewish community in Sydney. Enough of these forms of anti-Semitic violence! We must eliminate hatred from our hearts."
It was “not so good” that Pope Francis had suppressed the traditional Roman Mass "in an authoritarian way," Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller said in an interview with journalist Michael Haynes. Pope Francis, Cardinal Müller said, had been "hurting and committing an injustice by accusing everyone who loves the older form of the rite of being against the Second Vatican Council in a general way, without any differentiating justice to single persons." The cardinal criticized what he sees as a double standard in the Vatican’s emphasis on dialogue and respect: "All the time they speak about dialogue and respect for other persons. When it comes to the homosexual agenda and gender ideology, they speak about respect—but toward their own people, they have no respect," he said. Cardinal Müller emphasized that the Church is like a family called to overcome internal tensions like brothers: "We do not have a police-state system in the Church, and we do not need one." And: "The Pope and the bishops …More

Fugitive Caught Hiding in Nativity Scene: In the southern Italian town of Galatone, a wanted man tried to evade arrest by blending into the town’s Nativity scene. Early on Saturday morning, Mayor Falvio Filoni noticed what he thought was a new life-size figure among the statues — until it started moving and speaking. The man, a 38-year-old from Ghana, had been hiding there for weeks. Police later identified him as a fugitive wanted for resisting law enforcement and aggravated assault. He has now been arrested and is serving his sentence in Lecce.

THE SANHEDRIN EMBASSY Fray Justo Pérez de Urbel Third Sunday of Advent The Baptist continues to fulfill his job as a pioneer, straightening the crooked paths and opening his hearts to the approaching light. It fulminates, exhorts, comforts and baptizes. They have not yet chained their hands or locked their voice between the walls of a basement. He lives on the banks of the Jordan, not far from Jericho, next to the entrance to the desert, where he has spent the years of his youth in mortification and fasting. But now the loner has become a director of men, the silent inhabitant of the jungle into a possible leader of villages. In all of Palestine there is only talk of his appearance. Up there, the fishermen of the lake entertain the forced waits of their office by repeating the words of the penitent; the pious Israelites begin to see in him a joyful hope, and even in the National Council of Israel, in the Sanhedrin, the Scriptures are stirred to look for some luminous text referring to …More
