Three Former Anglican Bishop Ordained to the Priesthood

UK

On Saturday Archbishop Vincent Nichols of Westminster has ordained three former Anglican bishops to the priesthood. The ceremony took place at the Westminster Cathedral. Keith Newton, the former Anglican Bishop of Richborough, Andrew Burnham, the former Anglican Bishop of Ebbsfleet, and John Broadhurst, the former Anglican Bishop of Fulham, were ordained priests just two days after their ordination to the diaconate and only two weeks after they were received into the Church. The three men become the first clergy members of the world’s first personal ordinariate. It was established by a papal decree and is known as the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham. The head of the ordinariate was named newly ordained Fr Newton.

What Did They Do Wrong?

Great Britain

The British Journalist Damian Thompson has commented the announced beatification of the late Pope John Paul II. What better candidate could there be, Thomson writes on his blog? But then he also mentions that – quote - several Catholics have told me that beatifying a Pope a mere six years after his death gives the impression that the process is being “helped along” a little too fast. As one of Thompson’s friends put it: “We’re reaching a stage where beatification for recently dead Popes is like a life peerage for ex-Prime Ministers. It focuses attention on the ones who don’t receive the honor, and you wonder: what did they do wrong?”

Ten things you didn't know about Vatican II

Internet

The famous Blog Acts of the Apostasy has listed “Ten things you didn't know about Vatican II”. 1. Vatican II was the single most important event of the 20th century EVER! 2. Vatican II was not on the grassy knoll in Dallas, but it knows who was. 3. It stopped the Global Ice Age back in the 70's, and it could solve global warming if it wanted to. 4. It shut down the BP oil spill. 5. It helped end the Great Depression. 6. It discovered penicillin. 7. It brought about the DH rule in baseball, the two-point conversion in the National Football League, and the shootout to break a tie in the National Hockey League. 8. It invented the Internet. 9. It broke the four-minute mile first. 10. It discovered America. The author of the blog concludes: I felt it was important to point out that Vatican II was responsible for way much more than just bringing the Church into a New Enlightened Age Of The Spirit, Except Its Being Suppressed By B16.

Dear Larry,
If more Catholics would have had your sense of humor, some consequences of Vatican II would not have been as dangerous as they have conme about to be.
Thanks a lot for the work you do on your blog. 👍 😇More

Thanks for mentioning my humble blog on your newscast! I'm not sure how "famous" I am, though! I'm glad you get my sense of humor.

Hi Iraputo,
😉
I don't know Holy Cannoli but I'm Italian and I love Cannoli. At the St. Joseph's tables on March 19 the priest blesses all the food that the parishoners bring from home. Some bring Cannoli and after the priest blesses them then, they are, indeed, Holy Cannoli.
😌
There's Holy Ravioli and Holy Lasagna as well. Personally I try a little bit of everything but I love the Holy Cannoli …More
