Edward Peters has criticized Bishop Howard Hubbard of Albany for administering Communion to New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo, a pro-death-politician who is living with a female partner to whom he is not married. Peters is a canon-law professor at Sacred Heart seminary in Detroit and a consultant to the Vatican’s top court, Apostolic Signatura. He declared that Cuomo’s – quote - “public concubinage” is a violation of moral norms. According to Peters Cuomo should be denied the sacrament in accord with Canon 915, if he approaches for Holy Communion.

The Sisters minster in “remote villages where the pimps prey on the girls with the promise of a good job in the city.” Twenty victims of human trafficking live with the community, whose size has grown to 22, including three novices. Archbishop Leonard was appointed in Jan. 2010 in part as a response to the liberal tenure of his predecessor Cardinal Godfried Danneels, who is now retired. Archbishop Leonard, a former professor, was called by some the "Belgian Ratzinger" for his intelligence and powerful appearance in public discussions.

Why is this? A politician publicly opposes the Catholic Church's teachings against abortion and homosexuality, and he lives in public concubinage. He brings his concubine with him to public events, and even to Mass. Yet he goes to Holy Communion without being rebuked? Thank you Edward Peters for raising this issue. It needs some more attention.
Unfortunately this bishop is like many east coast liberal religious and caters to earthly fame and the approval of man instead of doing the Will of God. All one has to do is watch the Catholic funeral video of Ted Kennedy to see this demonstration of religious travesty & hypocrisy. Unfortunately this bishop is like many east coast liberal religious and caters to earthly fame and the approval of man instead of doing the Will of God. All one has to do is watch the Catholic funeral video of Ted Kennedy to see this demonstration of religious travesty & hypocrisy. By watching Ted Kennedy's eulogy you'd think he was the male version of Mother Teresa. Catholic religious who practice their faith in this manner are in grave sin. Being a priest for the approval of man and neglecting their duty to Christ will be harshly judged.

In so doing, they add nothing to the credibility and consistency of the teachings of the Catholic Church and they may indeed demonstrate the hypocrisy of its high ranking clerics which reflects poorly on the Church overall.
