Yesterday Pope Benedict XVI has made two important appointments: Archbishop Fernando Filoni has been named the prefect of the Congregation for Evangelization. He replaces Cardinal Ivan Dias, who is retiring at the age of 75. Until now, Filoni has been the deputy Secretary of State. Filoni has served in Sri Lanka, Iran, Brazil, the Philippines, and Iraq. During his term as apostolic nuncio in Iraq, he refused to abandon his post in Baghdad—as other diplomats did—to escape the US bombing campaign. Benedict XVI has named the apostolic nuncio in Cuba, archbishop Giovanni Angelo Becciu, to succeed Filoni as the new deputy Secretary of State.

Evil from Secular France. Is it any wonder the louche secular French will soon be outbred by the family oriented Muslims?! And if you want to reduce the number of abortions.....support chastity before marriage. It works every time. As I said before......please have a bonfire of the contraception passes. And a Catholic State rather than a secular state would be nice too
