Christmas is the time to renew the Christian life.

Christmas is at the door, urging us all to renew our existence. Fr. Raniero Cantalamessa, a Capuchin and Preacher of the Papal Household, made this remark in the last Advent sermon in the Redemptoris Mater Chapel in the Vatican. Inspired by Saint Paul, Father Cantalamessa said that new life rooted in Christ is the destiny of the believer. This offer of new life has to be translated without delay into something concrete, into a change, possibly even an exterior and visible change, in our lives and our habits. And if this resolution is not put into action, it is as if Jesus is conceived, but is not born.
