SBpfu - Indeed! All is clear now. Thanks.

You are again just being a punk.

What is there about "no personal attacks" Rhemes, that you don't understand?

I would prefer to publicly destroy you on this board but instead I'm reporting your post to management.

R1582, I understand your concern for Fr Pavone that in his ever increasing involvement in the political arena, his Catholic faith will be diluted.

Politics is about compromise and religion is about principles. You cannot gain a majority vote unless you are all things to all people. By joining forces with other major religions on the abolition of abortion you can gain far greater political strength, but equally, you run the risk of becoming compromised in the witness and practice of your faith. Dear Fr. Pavone,

First of all, thank you for your video and thanks again for your efforts and your inspiration in saving unborn babies.

I just went to PFL website and looked at your page devoted to prayer
http://www.priestsforlife.org/prayercampaign/

Each of those prayers on your website close the same way,

We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Or, in Spanish,
Te lo pedimos por Cristo nuestro Señor. Amén.

So, apparently, you do mentioned “Christ” at Priests for Life.

Indeed.... that formula is not in question at all (were did I say otherwise?).
ACLumsden  24/09/2011 12:42:45
Hi SBpfu! Indeed, I was just trying to get Rhemes to order his thoughts a tad better so that they are crystal clear - hence my summerisation below. On the other hand, the prayer formula which I gave is also used by the Mormons and the Pentecostals alike. But then there is the baptism question which is problematic since they (mormons), for some odd reason, baptise in the name of the Triune God. NOT in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost (Spirit). Weird really.

The Patristic formula of To … [More]

Dear Rhemes,
Firstly, let me say how happy I am that we can engage in a respectful conversation as Catholic gentlemen even though we have disagreed. I am relatively new to this site and I haven't seen too many of these "pro-life videos". My comments were specific to this particular one. Taken in isolation, one cannot accuse it of "indifferentism" but I take your point that when I see more, I'll notice whether there is a strong "indifferentist" element. If that is the case, then naturally I … [More]

@Rhemes - To be clear: That the mission is not explicitly IN NOMINE IESV CHRISTI, is your concern. This concern is located in an apparent locvs priori in the natural anthropoid, rather than the higher, religious realm.

Is this what you are trying to say?

Simple but orthodox Catholic  24/09/2011 12:00:56
@ Rhemes1582,
I really don't understand what you find so objectionable about this video. There is no sense of "indifferentism" in it. The video is under 3 minutes long and "non-Catholics" are first mentioned only at the 1.29 mark. In fact, and please look/listen to it again, anything that could be classified as specifically "non-Catholic" is mentioned only that one time. The video deals with the upcoming "World Synod of Catholic Bishops" with its theme of "The New Evangelization" and Fr Pavone … [More]

@Rhemes- I rather think you miss the point. The progression is, according to Scripture and later, the Patristic Fathers unto Tomas Aquinas, "To the Father through the Son in the power of the Holy Spirit". This is common to ALL biblically based Christians. I do not see the Church compromising on this Truth or any such core truth to save souls.

Do clarify your point dear brother, it is quite vague.

@SboC - And to you too mate!

Hi ACL
Have a great Sunday!!!

ACLumsden  24/09/2011 10:58:04
@SboC - Absolutely dear brother! One can get so 'blinkered' (insular and xenophobic) that one cannot see the forest for the trees. The main goal is ALWAYS the salvation of souls; denominational differences are quite subordinate to this.
Simple but orthodox Catholic  24/09/2011 10:50:12
@ Rhemes 1582 Hi!
I agree with you that as Catholics we should profess publicly and proudly ALL that we believe. Finding common ground with men and women of all faiths for a common cause, such as the ending of abortion, should NOT mean that we ignore what it is that gives us our very identity. On the other hand, we cannot expect Jews, Moslems, Protestants to ignore their own identity either. So, don't you think that if we are joining for a common purpose with others we should all concentrate … [More]
