Polish Nuncio Conferred Confirmation in the Roman Rite

On 2 May, the Apostolic Nuncio to Poland, Antonio Filipazzi, conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Roman rite on 50 young people close to the Institute of the Good Shepherd in Poland.
The ceremony took place at the former Camaldolese church in Bielany, Warsaw.
Afterwards, a Mass was celebrated, with the nuncio assisting from the throne.
The Institute of the Good Shepherd has been working in the Archdiocese of Warsaw for 10 years.
Archbishop Filipazzi is a papal loyalist. He praised Pope Francis in 2025 as an "untiring shepherd of the universal Church" who devoted "all his energy to the Church and to all humanity".

Seven billion dollars could have flowed into a Ukrainian drone company backed by friends of Volodymyr Zelensky.
Of that amount, 20 percent—nearly one and a half billion dollars—was reportedly set to be pure profit for the insiders: Zelensky’s inner circle and the ministers he personally appointed. This is the very same company that Zelensky himself has been hawking nonstop—personally flying it around to foreign investors as Ukraine’s great success story. The details come from secret audio recordings made by Ukraine’s Anti-Corruption Bureau and leaked to an independent investigative journalist. Right now in Ukraine, politicians are openly talking about impeaching Zelensky. Tomorrow, a sitting member of parliament is going to read even more of these recordings publicly. I’m told some of the voices captured may include the First Lady herself. Other tapes casually refer to “Vova”—Zelensky’s nickname—as both a participant in the deal and the owner of one of …More

According to Greek mythology, chaos reigned in the beginning. Looking at the direction in which the European Union is heading, one gets the impression that there has been no chaos yet and that everything is currently heading toward it. Therefore, a more fitting motto for EU mythology would be: In the end, chaos reigned.
The lesson of history is clear: empires and artificial constructs cannot survive indefinitely against economic realities. The EU is no longer a natural entity of voluntary cooperation, but a bureaucratic monstrosity that undermines the sovereignty and prosperity of its peoples. It is time to take an honest look. The EU, a hospice patient, does not need further life-prolonging measures. It needs a dignified end – and the chance for European nations to rebuild and improve. Prolonging its agony only lengthens the suffering of its citizens.
The conclusion quoted above comes from an article published on Saturday on tkp.at: The EU …

Holy Land becomes 'Christian Disneyland' - Jerusalem Abbot

Christians of all denominations now make up less than two per cent of the population of the Holy Land, Benedictine Abbot Nikodemus Schnabel told Aid to the Church in Need on 29 April.
“My concern is that the Holy Land could become a kind of Christian Disneyland,” he said.
He warned that while the holy sites may remain, the region could lose its indigenous Christian communities, leaving places central to Christianity without ordinary Christian family life.
He said that economic hardship was a major driver of emigration and noted that many local Christians depended on tourism, which had struggled since 2019 due to the pandemic and regional conflict.
“People are leaving because they see no future,” he said.

Acts 14:19-28
Paul and Barnabas were stoned. Afterward, they went to proclaim the Good News: God is Love, God loves us. Turn away from evil and allow God to love you.
Finding new disciples allows the mission to continue.
John 14:27-31a
Jesus said, “You would rejoice that I am going to the Father.”
Joy is a recurring theme in this passage. Jesus cherishes joy and peace. The childlike joy within us is a sign that we are close to God.
Let us continue to meditate on this childlike joy. To be close to the Father, to be close to God, is the purpose of life.

BREAKING: 'He is no Pope at all' – Traditional Redemptorists reject Leo XIV and predecessors - LifeSite

Sat May 2, 2026 - 10:16 am EDTSat May 2, 2026 - 2:03 pm EDT
(
LifeSiteNews) — The Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer, a traditionalist Catholic congregation based on Papa Stronsay in Scotland, have issued a declaration denouncing Paul VI through to Leo XIV as “papal pretenders”, and condemning the reforms of the Second Vatican Council as having “brought about a major schism from the Mystical Body.”
The community – often called the “Transalpine Redemptorists” – was founded by Father Michael Mary Sim in 1987 under the auspices of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre and the Society of St. Pius X, at the encouragement of Cardinal Édouard Gagnon. It was reconciled with the Vatican in 2012 and has operations in the U.S. and New Zealand.
The letter attached to the declaration explains the community’s position regarding the state of the Church following Vatican II, detailing the prior teaching of the Church and arguing that there has been a significant departure from it.

22 miles of faith: Catholic family of 10 turns Walk to Mary pilgrimage into a tradition

Two adults, eight children, 22 miles, and one purpose — to grow closer to Jesus Christ through Mary, his mother. That about sums up what the Allex family from Barrington, Illinois, will be taking on during their 10th Walk to Mary on May 2 in Champion, Wisconsin.
The
Walk to Mary is an annual pilgrimage held on the first Saturday of May. The first walk took place in 2013 and over the years thousands of Catholics from around the world have participated. The 22-mile pilgrimage starts at the National Shrine of St. Joseph and ends at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion, which is the only approved Marian apparition site in the United States, in which the Blessed Mother appeared to Adele Brise in 1859.
For Kym Allex, a Catholic home schooling mother; her husband, Preston; and their eight children — ranging in age from 17 to 4 — the pilgrimage has become an annual tradition.
