valsac09 on Nov 22, 2009 Saint Vincent Pallotti (April 21, 1795 – January 22, 1850) was an Italian ecclesiastic, born in Rome, and a saint. He was the founder of the Pious Society of Missions (the Pallotines), He is buried in the church of San Salvatore in Onda. He was descended from the noble families of the Pallotti of Norcia and the De Rossi of Rome. His early studies were made at the Pious Schools of San Pantaleone, and from there he passed to the Roman College. At the age of sixteen, he resolved to become a priest, and was ordained on May 16, 1820.

Januar 1850 in Rom) war ein katholischer Priester und Gründer der „Vereinigung des Katholischen Apostolats“ (Unione Apostolatus Catholici, UAC), die erst 2003 als internationale Vereinigung von Gläubigen kirchlich anerkannt wurde. Innerhalb dieser Vereinigung entstanden noch zu Lebzeiten Pallottis die Schwesterngemeinschaft der Pallottinerinnen und die Pallottiner, eine Gesellschaft apostolischen Lebens. Vinzenz Pallotti wurde an seinem hundertsten Todestag (22. Januar 1950) durch Papst Pius XII. seliggesprochen und am 20. Januar 1963 während des Zweiten Vatikanischen Konzils durch Papst Johannes XXIII. heilig gesprochen. Sein Fest- und Gedenktag ist der 22. Januar.
