I often wonder why church leaders and politicians who present themselves as Catholic are able to make some of the public statements that they do without censorship from the Church. I'd like to see an article that explains the Churches position on this.

I find it interesting how Abp. Muller can on the one hand, demand that the SSPX adhere to Catholic doctrine and the Pope, which they do albeit in an irregular state, but yet, on the other hand, he posits theological positions that are contrary, nay even heretical to Catholic dogma?
