Asks Republicans To Soften Stand On Abortion
From Politico:

Trump stunned conservative Republicans Tuesday when he directed them to be “flexible” on abortion coverage issues in ongoing health care talks — a nonstarter in the negotiations for hard-liners and scores of other GOP lawmakers. “You have to be a little flexible on Hyde, you know that. You gotta be a little flexible. You gotta work something … we’re all big fans of everything. But you have to have flexibility,” Trump told House Republicans during remarks at the GOP conference’s daylong policy meeting Tuesday.
Asked for his reaction on Capitol Hill, Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla), a lead proponent of Hyde protections, replied: “I’m not flexible on the value of every child’s life. Children are valuable, and so I’d have to get up to the context of what he meant by that.” [Pro-life] groups have been intensely vocal, threatening Republicans to not back any effort to leave out Hyde protections in a health care deal.

The 2026 “9 Days for Life” marks the 14th time the novena has taken place. Since it began, the prayer has reached hundreds of thousands of people in over 100 countries spanning six continents, according to the USCCB.

Roman Rite NOT Discussed – Next Consistory in June

Several sources confirmed that the Mass in the Roman rite was not mentioned at the consistory on 7–8 January.
South African Cardinal Wilfrid Napier, 84, told Edward Pentin that the Roman Latin Mass was not discussed: "I think the main point was how to get the whole Church to evangelise at the same level."
Cardinal Jean-Paul Vesco, 63, of Algeria, confirmed to Niwa Limbu that they had not discussed any form of liturgy: "We talked about the importance of the Eucharist in the context. of synodality."
However, Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller told EWTN that the cardinals had discussed the liturgy and the "old" and "new" rites: "I think Pope Leo will find a good solution for everyone."
Only two dozen of the 170 cardinals were able to speak during the 'free interventions'.
Speaker of the Vatican press office Matteo Bruni added in the evening that future consistories will be held once a year and last 3–4 days. The next consistory is planned for 27–28 June.

Lebanon Catholics Petition to Ban DJ Priest’s Night Club Appearance

A group of Catholics in Lebanon have launched a legal bid to prevent an upcoming performance by Portuguese priest Guilherme Peixoto. His "music" blends electronic dance beats with religious imagery. He is scheduled to perform at the AHM nightclub in Beirut on 10 January.
The petitioners have submitted a request to a Beirut summary affairs judge, seeking to halt the concert. They argue that the performance 'undermines church values' and 'misrepresents Christian rituals', citing concerns over a priest performing as a DJ in a nightclub.
However, resorting to the state in such matters is futile. Padre Peixoto is due to preside over a Eucharist in Kaslik on the same day. Supporters rightly argue that his ministry and artistic work are officially recognised by church authorities in many countries.
He also performed at World Youth Day in Lisbon in 2023, just before Pope Francis's Eucharist.

The priest missed his DJ calling. Maybe he can be laicized and do what he has a passion for.

Federal prosecutors just blew the lid off a $7 MILLION SNAP fraud scheme in Boston. Two Haitian nationals have been charged for running so-called “ghost stores” — tiny shops with barely any inventory that were somehow cashing $540,000 a MONTH in EBT. Let that sink in. That’s SIX TIMES the SNAP volume of a real, fully stocked supermarket. The stores were allegedly used to trade EBT for cash and illegal items, draining taxpayer funds at an insane scale. This wasn’t a corner store hustle. This was industrial-level fraud. And people still wonder where the money goes.

Top Vatican insider RISKS EVERYTHING to denounce synodality as NOT CATHOLIC
Doctrinal confusion grows within the Catholic Church, as discussed in this conversation referencing insights from Professor William Thomas’ recent warnings about modernism and ambiguity from Church leaders. The panel discusses how silence, compromise, and contradictory messaging, especially on issues like sexuality, migration, and ecclesial reform, are eroding trust among the faithful. The conversation critiques the replacement of clear, revealed truth with emotion-driven theology and political convenience, arguing this shift contributes to the unraveling of moral and spiritual coherence. Referencing Venezuela, the hosts examine how Catholic social teaching is often selectively applied, depending on the political climate. The episode calls for renewed moral courage, fidelity to tradition, and resistance to the theological drift reshaping the Church from within.

St. Theresa of Avila emphasizes in her book "The Way of Perfection" that the graces of the Holy Spirit do not come in isolation. Rather if one grace is available to a person, all are. That is she says how one can discern a true calling. If one gets a hint of Fortitude without Holy Fear, Wisdom without Counsel, etc then something is suspect. So if you feel called to God's grace in His Church, don't forget the intellectual virtues.

Ukraine Returns St. Nicholas Cathedral to Catholic Community | Shalom World News
In a historically significant move, Ukraine has handed over Kyiv’s St. Nicholas Cathedral to the Roman Catholic community for their use for the next 50 years. This Neo-Gothic masterpiece belonged to the Catholic community until it was closed down and converted into a concert venue under Soviet rule. The announcement of the transfer came on the Feast of the Epiphany, marked by prayers and a Holy Mass at the church attended by senior Ukrainian officials, clergy, and members of the faithful. The cathedral, a protected national heritage site, has endured wartime damage, Soviet-era repression, and most recently the effects of a Russian missile strike nearby during the invasion of Ukraine. Government officials said the decision restores the building’s original purpose as a place of worship while maintaining state ownership and heritage protections.

POPE LEO AND THE CONSISTORY MUST NOT INTERPRET VATICAN COUNCIL II DECEPTIVELY FOR POLITICAL REASONS . THE COUNCIL IS TRADTIIONAL
Pope Leo must not confuse implicit cases as being explicit, create a liberal, non traditional conclusion and then say Vatican Council II must be developed and deepened, it is the North Star. This is dishonesty. Invisible people are invisible.
He must interpret implicit cases of LG 8 ,14, 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc, in Vatican Council II, as not being explicit exceptions for the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus (EENS), the Athanasius Creed and the Syllabus of Errors of Pope Pius IX. An ecclesiocentric Vatican Council II must support an ecclesiocentric Roman Missal of the Latin Mass.

Pope Leo has not informed the Study Groups at the Consistory that Vatican Council II is traditional, orthodox and exclusivist. It is in harmony with traditional faith and morals. So there cannot be any innovation. Homosexual unions and other LGBT agenda are mortal sins …More

Pro-life mother charged with ‘harassment’ in Northern Ireland for silently praying near hospital – Allah's Willing Executioners

Claire Brennan, a 54-year-old mother of four, appeared Monday in Coleraine Magistrate’s Court in Northern Ireland on three charges under the Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) Act. She is charged with three counts of “doing an act inside a safe access zone” outside Coleraine’s Causeway Hospital in September, October, and November. The Causeway Hospital commits abortions.
Brennan hails from Doneyshiel Road in Rasharkin, and court documents
claim that she protested “with the intent of, or being reckless as to whether, it had the effect of causing harassment, alarm, or distress in connection with the protected person attending premises for a purpose mentioned in Section 3 of the Abortion Services Act.” Three women are named in the charges.
Brennan was first arrested for praying outside the hospital in October 2023 with fellow pro-lifer David Hall, who uses a wheelchair. She was praying the Lord’s Prayer and holding a rosary a month after the Abortion Services Act — which criminalizes …

Huge LA Times Investigation of Public School Abuse Allegations But Fraudulent Claims Ignored

It's raining taxpayer money in California.
More than 1,100 abuse lawsuits since just 2020 … $700 million in abuse settlements with projections reaching as high as $3 billion … Decades-old accusations dating back to the 1970s.
Sound familiar? Of course. But in this case, a recent
investigation (archive link) by the Los Angeles Times is not referring to the Catholic Church but about abuse accusations in California public schools.
A familiar story with a new name
The Times' investigation details how the majority of abuse accusations arose as a result of California legislation called AB 218, which was passed in 2019 and lifted the state's statute of limitations for three years, allowing individuals to sue organizations for abuse no matter how long ago it allegedly occurred. And as we have reported before, California had passed similar legislation in the past that allowed individuals to sue the Catholic Church and the like but not public institutions no matter how long ago the alleged …
