Reform of the Reform: After Benedict’s resignation the reform of the reform has been abandoned, the German novelist Martin Mosebach told "Paix liturgique". According to Mosebach, the Vatican Congregation for the Liturgy has been staffed with enemies of the reform. He believes that Benedict did not realize how deep the spirit of the anti-liturgical heresy had penetrated into the high clergy. For him, Pope Francis travels the path of least resistance and because of that he is seen as “courageous”. At the same time, the traditionalists must again continue without Rome. Mosebach comments: "But this we have already experienced."

Will he serve the Catholics? On Saturday Monsignor Mark O'Toole, the former private secretary to the very liberal Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor was named as the new Bishop of Plymouth, England. Mgr O'Toole is quoted saying: "I know that the example of Pope Francis will continue to inspire my ministry as shepherd to all in the Diocese, especially to serve the poor, the weak, and those who feel alienated from God as I work alongside fellow Christians." Interestingly, he did not specifically mention his desire to serve the Catholics who would need him the most.

Killing Kennedy: Three years before U.S. president John F. Kennedy was killed in Dallas an assassination attempt on him was thwarted. The intended assassin was an anti-Irish and anti-Catholic bigot called Richard Pavlick. He was convinced that after the election of Kennedy the pope would be running the U.S. government. Pavlick had a history of mental illness. He purchased 10 sticks of dynamite to carry out his plan.

Islam in Catholic Schools: The Indonesian Islamic Ulema Council has once again stirred up controversy over the fact that Islam is not taught in the country's Catholic schools. Last year, the same issue was front-page news for weeks until Muslim parents came out in defence of the high level of education in the Catholic schools where their children study.
