He has taken an outstanding initiative for the advancement of the extraordinary form, NewLiturgicalMovement reports. Sedientos de las estructuras que garanticen la Paz en México
Son muchas las necesidades que aquejan a nuestro país, en todos los órdenes de la vida humana, principalmente de justicia, paz y respeto a la dignidad de las personas; en especial a la mujer y grupos vulnerables; estas necesidades, no atendidas oportunamente, están generando carencias y vulnerabilidad en la relación y convivencia social, por lo que podemos señalar un grave deterioro del tejido social mexicano.
La Iglesia en México es consciente de las dificultades y que vivimos tiempos difíciles, pero tenemos la certeza de que Cristo venció a la muerte y en Él hemos puesto toda nuestra confianza.
En nuestro país, al igual que en varios países de América Latina y del Caribe, se está deteriorando, en la vida social, la convivencia armónica y pacífica. Esto sucede por el crecimiento de la violencia, que se manifiesta día tras día en robos, asaltos, secuestros, corrupción y extorsión, y lo que es más grave, en asesinatos que cada día destruyen más vidas humanas y llenan de dolor a las familias y a la sociedad entera.
Estos no son hechos aislados o infrecuentes, sino una situación que se ha vuelto habitual, que tiene distintas manifestaciones y en la que participan diversos agentes; se ha convertido en un signo de nuestro tiempo que debemos discernir para ponernos al servicio del Reino, anunciado por Jesús, que vino para que todos tengan vida y la tengan en plenitud.
Las expresiones de angustia y desesperación de nuestro pueblo son manifestaciones claras de impotencia frente a la pobreza, la desigualdad, la inequidad en la distribución de la riqueza, falta de oportunidades de estudio, empleo y desarrollo. Por lo que es urgente trabajar por un Estado de Derecho que garantice los derechos individuales y colectivos, el bienestar, la protección y la seguridad en bien de los ciudadanos. Tarea conjunta que corresponde a las autoridades y a la misma sociedad.
La historia de nuestro pueblo no es fácil, pero se cuenta con la nobleza y bondad de sus mujeres y hombres. Aún quedan caminos, contamos con alternativas, por lo que hacemos un llamado para promover la reconciliación en el esfuerzo de reconstituir la unidad nacional, en la riqueza de la pluralidad de sus culturas y de la sociedad. Unirnos con convicción y esperanza en la construcción de la paz y en el impulso del desarrollo humano integral y solidario de cada mexicano.
Todos tenemos mucho por hacer, y ha llegado el momento de trabajar con más empeño por alcanzar la paz, comenzando por lograr los grandes acuerdos y reformas que México necesita, trabajar en el trato que nos damos a nosotros mismos y en las relaciones que experimentamos diariamente con los demás, principalmente en el núcleo familiar, donde la mujer juega un papel determinante en la formación y transmisión de los valores y en la educación por el respeto y la paz.
Pedimos al Espíritu Santo que sea quien anime y renueve los corazones, los contagie de su amor, luz, vida y esperanza. Rogamos a Dios por su misericordia al amparo e intercesión de Santa María de Guadalupe para que en Cristo nuestra paz, México tenga vida digna.

An alarm should be rung over the genetic manipulation of Creation -- a new, louder alarm -- as developments unfold from Canada through the Midwest of the U.S. and from coast to coast, not to mention other countries.
But let's start with Canada. As it says in a recent report: "The Canadian government is on the verge of approving the introduction of extremely bizarre genetically modified pigs into the Canadian food supply. These new mouse/pig hybrids have been dubbed 'enviropigs' and are being touted as being much better for the environment. This new 'breed' of Yorkshire pigs was created by scientists in Ontario at the University of Guelph, who spliced in genes from mice to decrease the amount of phosphorus produced in the pigs' excrement. So soon millions of Canadians will be eating meat from mouse/pig hybrid creatures and most of them will not even realize it."
Our scientists -- many benefiting from tax dollars -- are doing increasingly bizarre things. They are blending spider genes with those of goats to produce a protein in goat milk that can be extracted, purified, and spun into an incredibly strong fiber.
They are taking an enzyme that they dubbed "Luciferase" (yes, this is true, because it relates to light) from sea anemones or fireflies and inserting it in dogs and cats to make them bioluminescent -- able to glow under a black light (the excuse: so we can study their organs without dissecting them, or in the case of tobacco, which also has been modified (tobacco-firefly hybrids), to study genetic interactions (see here).
Some even want to create a hybrid that is half human and half chimp (a "humanzee"; we'll wait to see the excuse for that; one atheist said it should be done if for no other reason than to offend Christians).
Human brain cells in mice? Human genes in pigs -- to grow spare organs?

In Missouri, the Monsanto Corporation is cornering the market on seeds like corn and soy that have been genetically modified so they have built-in pesticides or can endure more of the chemicals used to treat crops against insects and weeds (chemicals manufactured by, yes, Monsanto, which previously gave us compounds such as PCBs and Agent Orange). Ring the alarm here.
Does it even relate to ancient prophecy?
In the apocryphal Book of Enoch -- which, as one website points out, is directly quoted by the Book of Jude in the New Testament -- it says "and they began to sin against birds, beasts, reptiles, and fish, to eat their flesh one after another, and to drink their blood" (7:14) before the Flood.
More to the point, perhaps, is the 3,000-year-old Book of Jasher -- another ancient history that's quoted in the Biblical books of Joshua and II Samuel.
Jasher 4:18 says that in the days of Noah "the sons of men in those days took from the cattle of the earth, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the air, and taught the mixture of animals of one species with the other, in order therewith to provoke the Lord."
This is serious stuff -- O Canada, O Midwest, O Missouri and Iowa and the other places where the genetic crops are sprouting or the animals are mixed or where there are the laboratories!
Let us warn you as we warned before "Katrina" (see: Oh New Orleans, shed ye the darkness or face disaster ): disaster looms if we stray from God's Plan for Creation.
We refer also to the "1990 prophecy." "My greatest nemesis is science, even more so than the media," the Lord supposedly said in a dream to an anonymous recipient. "The science that alters life, the science which creates a counterfeit heaven, the science that toils with the womb and genes..."
In an addendum fourteen years later -- the only other one released from this person -- were allegedly the words, "There is going to be a major disruption in a region of the world that will affect everyone. The world is now seriously out of conformance with the Will of God and what He created and intended. There are those who would reconfigure the very creatures He has formed, and who meddle with the texture of life. For this reason, the Lord will allow a huge reorientation. If not for the action of Heaven, what God has created on earth will soon be damaged beyond recovery. A very dramatic effect already is in progress as regards the support structures of what man calls nature. Such cannot be allowed to take the final realization of total realignment when it comes to the very way elements and life forces interact. The event to come will surprise everyone who has offered a prognostication, and will show even recalcitrant scientists, though not all, that there is a fundamental alarm in Heaven over their arrogant and wayward course. Nothing that is artificial in a way that disrupts what God intended will be allowed to stand."
For your considered judgment (and vigilance). Who can say? Once seemingly so radical and mysterious, the words seem less so in light of the truly remarkable move in science to re-create -- forever, in irrevocable fashion -- what God has created.
