La historia cuenta que San Longino, el que hirió a N. Sr. en la Cruz con una lanza, guardó la Preciosísima Sangre de N. Sr., y con el tiempo, esta reliquia llegó a Mantova, Italia. Mantova la compartió con Weingarten, y desde entonces celebran éste gran evento.
