This bishop is saying that something historical did not happen. That does not make one a racist (anti-semitism is a form of racism). He did not say, "I hate Jews" or "Jews should die" or "Jews are an inferior race" or "Lets make Jews live in ghettos". I cannot read his heart -- it could very well be that he loves Jews and would give his life to save the soul of a Jewish person.
