Before getting all hot and bothered about this, let's see what the Holy See has to say about the apparitions in Medjugorje at year end. Having been there and putting the visioniaries aside for a minute, I'm personally convinced that Medjugorje has graced thousands with true undisputable conversions. Am I somewhat sceptical about the state of mind of some of the visioniaries? Well personally the answer is yes. This being said I might be completely wrong. Take care and God bless.

I agree that the Irish Catholics of Ireland are only a drop in the ocean but let's not forget the descendants of Irish Catholics found worldwide. These people (like the American Irish) are deeply rooted in their ancestry and to some extent still deeply rooted in their Catholicism. I've just come back from Mauritius (a very tiny little island in the Indian Ocean but part of the African zone).
Christians (mainly Catholic) there eventhough living amongst Hindous and Muslims are truly proud of their religion.
They'll not only sign themselves when passing by a church but will also sign themselves when passing a small shrine or grotto.
