On the contrary, the videos of Rabbi Mordechai Friedman and Pastor Gino Jennings have everything to do with this particular “news brief”. The above written text goes into great detail about an Arabic video handed to someone.
“One need not understand Arabic to appreciate the intensity of Nihari’s hate: watch the video starting at minute 2:15 and see the gesticulating cleric issue his curse while striking the floor with a stick, hurling a picture, and banging on the wall.”
HC, I take seriously any extremist, whether they are secular or religious. Should you look at the photographs behind the rabbi you will see some of the shining stars of the ultra right orthodox community, eg Meir Kahane and Baruch Goldstein.
“Pastor hammers home message”
I thought I would offer a link which has Pastor Gino Jennings from Truth of God Ministries (Philadelphia) hammering home a message regarding idol worship. Each time the pastor hits the statue of St … [Plus]
Rabbi Mordechai Friedman has made a number of videos which come under the heading “Judaism - The Series”. I offer two video links showing the style of this New York rabbi who is not permitted to enter the State of Israel.
Dear Jesus, help us to spread Your fragrance everywhere we go. Flood our souls with Your spirit and life. Penetrate and possess our whole being so utterly that our lives may only be a radiance of Yours. Shine through us and be so in us that every soul we come in contact with may feel Your presence in our souls.
Let them look up, and see no longer us, but only Jesus! Stay with us and then we will begin to shine as You shine, so to shine as to be a light to others.
“What think you? If a man have an hundred sheep, andone of them should go astray: doth he not leave the ninety-nine in the mountains, and go to seek that which is gone astray? And if it so be that he find it: Amen I say to you, he rejoiceth more for that, than for the ninety-nine that went not astray. Even so itis not the will of your Father, who is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.”
Louella, I am glad that I follow a Shepherd who cares for the one lost sheep as He does for the other ninety-nine.
Ireland does have a small Catholic population compared to the 136 million Catholics in Brazil, but since when did the smaller parts of the body of Christ no longer matter?

For those interested in the actual content of the “Are Roman Catholics Christians?” tract, access Chick Publications link.
What is particularly egregious about Jack Chick's pamphlet is that it questions the loyalties of American citizens - many of whom laid down their lives in World Wars I & II.
“Helen is now a citizen of two countries. Helen has two flags, two presidents, two constitutions and two loyalties. If Helenis a good Catholic, her first loyalty will be to the Vatican.”

“A good Christian should be humble as was Jesus Christ, who knelt down to wash the feet of His apostles. He washed even Judas’ feet, although He knew that the traitor was going to betray Him. The true Christian should consider himself to be the least among othersand the servant of all.”

It is well to remember that in the early church communion was received on the palm of the right hand and never in the palm of the left hand which was used for toiletry.
The laity was never permitted to touch the communion with their fingers and was only permitted to consume Holy Communion from the palm of their right hand.
A woman could not receive Holy Communion directly on the palm of her right hand but had placed on her hand a cloth, where communion was then placed.
AaronBrennan, the news brief addresses the subject of how to receive Holy Communion on the tongue. As stated in my first post on this thread, I have never received communion on the hand - and have no desire to receive it differently.
My reason for posting the quotation from the golden mouth of Saint John Chrysostom was for visitors to read some of the most sublime words ever spoken on Holy Communion.
I could go into far greater depth into the historical nature and symbolism of those golden … [Plus]

AaronBrennan, thank you for taking the time to reply to my post on the subject of communion in the hand. I am most interested in the above words attributed to Mother Teresa, would you be able to provide a reference that I can access?
I have never received Holy Communion in the hand, and have no desire to do so. Mother Teresa did acknowledge that receiving Holy Communion in the hand was permitted, although Blessed Mother Teresa preferred the Missionaries of Charity to receive Holy Communion on the tongue.

It is bad enough that countries such as Iran, Sudan and Saudi Arabia execute their own children for crimes, but we in the so called civilised world execute children for no crimes!

SboC, I was reading your posts and came across the words “Islam is a Christian heresy” possibly being attributed to Saint Thomas Aquinas by “Philosopher”. Hopefully, he will reference the original source for this unusual quotation.
(good to see you back online after the Hong Kong storms)
I cannot believe that a Doctor of the Church would make the above statement, and particularly St Thomas Aquinas who acknowledged that his knowledge of Islam was limited.
The abbey was dissolved at the end of the first phase of the revolution (nobility versus bourgeoisie), and the destruction of the abbey commenced at the beginning of the second phase of the revolution (bourgeois versus proletariat).
The abbey was dissolved 1792, and destruction commenced in 1793. Religious services were resumed in 1802, and the restoration of the “Cathédrale royale de Saint-Denis” commenced in 1806. ACL, I hope this is helpful.
I have heard this Marian hymn sung many times in a variety of ways but this plain song version is one of my favourites with its phrasing bringing the antiphon to a gentle close.
