I'm trying to understand why the HHS mandate supports 100% reimbursement for birth control instead of maintenence for diabetes or heart disease. Even if we are willing to throw morals aside to save tax dollars, focusing on a single aspect of healtcare is a poor financial investment. Providing greater coverage for any particular area of care discriminates against those who require a different intervention or treatment.

I miss the Communion rail because it gave me an uninterupted moment to reflect and pray. Standing in line as we do, lends to the feeling that I need to hurry up.

I've saved this article, and will use it as referrence for my college classes. Our textbooks are socially correct, and deny any study that is detrimental to the GLBT political agenda. I will also look for additional articles from this author. TY.

I'm not sure that Cardinal Dolan invited the President in an effort to put differences aside. Diplomacy does not occur without stategic considerations. I have great respect for Fr. Pavone's opinion. I am curious to see how this plays out.

I trust Cardinal Dolan. Inviting the President to speak doesn't condone his politcal positions. It may provide the President the opportunity to readdress his positions in a more charitable or practical manner.

Americans would be far better served if mandates provided for dental care, vision care, or any other specific healthcare. The administrations choice to focus on artificial contraception is clearly not routed in any examination of medical priority. I fear the motive behind the mandate is to limit the influence of the Church in America.

The Church is still recovering from sex abuse scandals decades ago. If we tolerate homosexuality in leadership, we will not regain the trust of those lost when we failed to act decisively. I love my Church.

I've often wondered why Vatican II was so misinterpreted. I find it difficult to believe that Church leaders deliberately misled us. Articles like this one, are encouraging. We just need to keep sharing the information.

I too am surprised that voters often seem to separate their politics from their religion. Maybe we need to encourage Faith, and the kind of moral courage that emphasizes that doing the right thing is always in vogue.

I'm pleased to see this study. In my university classes, we have discussed similar outcomes for children being raised in single parent households. Many students are unwilling to accept scientific reseach in lieu of the accepted social norms. The textbooks are often similarly single-minded.

I'm just guessing, but I suspect that many of the Catholics who are not opposed to the HHS mandate are unaware of it's full scope of authority. This mandate is a challege to the Constitution, and affects all American's regardless of Faith, political party, gender, sexual orientation, or bias. If we want our voice heard, we need to present the issue as such. Too many voters are under the impression that this is all about birth control.

I was going to write lol, but honest, I did laugh out loud. Calling it a prequel is a great idea. The Immaculate Conception was indeed a prequel. All went according to God's plan. No one could have made up the Bible. Just consider all the detail that was included in predicting the coming of the Messiah, his life, his death, and his reserection. I love it. My son is training at the Seeing Eye in Morristown, NJ. He and Frisco went to church together for the first time this morning. Thank you, Lord. I am so grateful for this blessing.

Many people are falsely accused of molestation, assault, and inappropriate behaviors that ruin their reputations and cause them great harm. Our priests may get more press, but others are treated similarly.

I chose Catholic School for my family because the teachings of the Church are dear to my heart. When the schools no longer reflect the values of Catholic teaching, they will be ineffective.

I'm not familiar with the LCWR. I pray that their conference renews their Catholic Faith. I just gotta say; I'm SO tired of hearing about religious who mislead the faithful. Friday fasting isn't a suffering penance at my house. I'm a great cook. Eating terrific meatless meals at the dining room table instead of the kitchen table also serves as a reminder of Christ's Passion. My Baptist husband really took notice this Lent when I took this tact. Every day is a day to evangelize. One way to a man's heart really is through his stomach.

I sometimes wonder why liberal priests can rant in favor of secular ideations without censorship from their bishops. I'm not certain if bishops have an obligation to explain their actions to the laity or not, but I would certainly find it encouraging from time to time.

I'd like to hear that the pamphet has been reviewed and corrections made to adhere to Church doctrine. My grandson starts kindergarten in the fall, and will be attending Catholic school. We are so pleased that each school day begins with the Our Father and the Pledge of Allegiance. That's why he's been enrolled in Catholic School. For those who want their children taught secular dogma, there are still many fine public schools.

I agree with Sister Mary Ann Walsh. I've grown impatient with articles quoting studies. I can read. Tell me who was polled, what the question was, and report the responses. And BTW, the tired old expression "comparing apples to oranges" is a rediculous analogy in this essay. Bishops teach Catholicism. The Supreme Court rules on constitutional law. The only vote the faithful will get on the HHS mandate will be when they cast their vote in November.
