Beginning November 30, the first Sunday of Advent, Bishop Michael Martin of Charlotte, North Carolina, will ban the use of any kind of kneelers for Communion. A heated discussion took place during the three-hour diocesan presbyterial council meeting last Tuesday.
The Diocese of Charlotte will discontinue the ordinary use of altar rails in parishes beginning Nov 30, the first Sunday of Advent. In parishes with temporary (not permanently affixed) altar rails, they will be removed. Beforehand, there was a heated consultation with the diocesan presbyterial council.

A crude bomb exploded outside St Mary’s Cathedral in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on 7 November, and another hit nearby St Joseph’s School and College. On 31 October, Rev Michael Korell of the Archdiocese of Munich, Germany, held a "Halloween-service" in the funeral hall of the city cemetery in Freising. Dressed in a Dracula cape, he prayed beside a half-open coffin amid fog effects. Around 50 people attended. "La vie et la passion de Jesus Christ" ), directed by Lucien Nonguet et Ferdinand Zecca, produced by Pathe Freres in 1903, is a over 40 min. French religieuse silent film. As such, it is one of the earliest feature-length narrative films. The film, with B/W sequences, but many times enhanced using Pathéchrome process and sold as "de luxe" coloured copies , takes a straightforward approach to its subject matter.
