Cardinal Robert Sarah theoretically is still the Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship, “but effectively sidelined by his deputy”, reports the news agency Associated Press adding, "in fact, it was Sarah's [ultraliberal] deputy, Archbishop Arthur Roche, who signed the explanatory note to Francis' new law allowing bishops' conferences, rather than Sarah's office, to have final say on Mass translations.”
Associated Press spoke about Sarah in the context of Thursday's conference at the Pontifical University of St Thomas Aquinas in Rome marking the 10th anniversary of the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum. The agency presents the three cardinals Burke, Müller and Sarah, who participated at the event, as critics of Pope Francis. According to other voices Pope Francis is an opponent of them.
