In the West, Christians are seeing a rise in persecution, too. Just recently, a former Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy was arrested for street preaching in London. He was taken into custody and interrogated because he called homosexuality a sin.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10

For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error.
