No Change: For the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller, the Church has no possibility to make any changes in the way she deals with divorced people who live in a de facto second marriage. In his book “Hope of the Family” which will be published soon in Italy Müller explains that divorced and remarried are excluded from Holy Communion because they contradict the dogma of the indissolubility of Christian marriage. Quote: “Not even a Council could change that.”

The Poorest of the Poor: In the same book, Cardinal Müller explains that those children whose parents divorce are – quote – “perhaps the poorest of the poor in this world”. According to the Cardinal little attention is devoted to them, especially in the rich countries of Europe and North America.

Bogus Allegations Against Catholic School: The staff at Glen Burnie's Monsignor Slade School in Anne Arundel County has been cleared of child sex abuse allegations. In May 2013, a former student reported being a victim of sex abuse at the school in the mid-2000s. According to the accuser the abuse took place between more than one staff member and him. But the police found inconsistencies in those allegations. Tthe state's attorney's office declined to prosecute.

The Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Ignatius Ephrem II who resides in Central Lebanon, has announced that a delegation of Eastern Churches will travel to the UN and some world capitals to plead for the Iraqi Christians. He said that what happens to them – quote - “does not correspond to the Islam we have known, with which we have lived for 13 centuries and more." He added in a sarcastic tone: "For our part, we plan to turn to the United Nations and the Human Rights Commission and ask them to be consistent with the charter they claim to respect."
