Spiritual Ecumenism, a path to unity.

Enzo Bianchi, Founder and Prior of the monastic community of Bose, is certain that spiritual ecumenism is a path to unity, an idea he expressed during the Week of Spirituality at the Teresianum Pontifical Institute of Spirituality in Rome.

"Spiritual ecumenism is a path to unity, where the true guide is the Holy Spirit."

Bianchi, founder of the monastic community of Bose in Northern Italy, watches for ecumenical gestures from the Pope and says it is important to pay attention to them.

"I believe that Vatican Council II demanded, especially of Christians, this dialogue, that is, ecumenism. The Pope has always been convinced of this and so we also expect from him ecumenical signs and gestures that truly help us progress toward the unity of the churches."

This monk, author of many books on spirituality, speaks of what it is like to be an author and a monk.

"I am a monk, a life that certainly has its peculiarities; thus what I say and write depends greatly on my life as a monk. I could be no other way."

Prior Bianchi describes the path of ecumenism in recent years.

"We have learned to understand each other, to journey side by side and to pray together for unity."
