Organ Donation: not everything is permissible.

Although at first sight organ donation is a good practice, there are nonetheless ethical limits. Doctor José María Simón Castellví, President of the International Federation of the Catholic Medic Association, explains the line that separates the ethical from the unethical.
"It is understandable that some body parts, such as stem cells, ovum and sperm, cannot be donated, because a person cannot donate the cells involved in making a child; neither can the brain be donated; in this case a transplant is not possible, but even if it were possible it would be unethical. And a living person cannot logically donate organs that are unpaired."
This is one of the themes to be discussed at a Congress on organ donation and transplant scheduled for November in Rome.
