Sharp Decline: Medjugorje has seen a decline in visitors after Pope Francis said a decision on the apparitions is imminent according to the New York Times. The bulk of pilgrims that visit the Bosnian town are Italians. “Whatever the verdict turns out to be, this wait is creating a state of uncertainty for the pilgrims, and that affects the season,” said Sante Frigo, an Italian married to a pilgrim guide in Medjugorje.” And: “From the point of view of the pilgrimage supply chain it’s been a catastrophe.”

Future: In 2115 Catholics are likely to be Great Britain’s largest Christian body according to Dominic Selwood. The Church of England will have disappeared before 2050. By 2100 Islam has will have overtaken Christianity to become the single largest religion on the planet.

Happy To Die: Under the title “More sisters on the verge of closing down” the blog La Cigüeña de la Torre has published pictures of the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell how they looked before and after Second Vatican Council. The blog comments: “It seems as if they are happy to die.”

Courageous Act: Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama of Jos, the president of the Nigerian bishops’ conference, opened on Tuesday, his 13th annual Catholic assembly with a sort of “State of the Union” address, which touched on gay marriage. Quote: “The culture of same-sex marriage is alien to our understanding of the family and should not be imposed on Nigerians,” he said, drawing vigorous applause from a crowd of priests, nuns, and lay delegates. In January 2014, Nigeria adopted a law criminalizing homosexuality, and the country’s bishops called the move a “courageous act.”

What the Nigerian bishop said is political or cultural - but sodomy and its official endorsement and Conferral of status is against God's Law, against Church doctrine, and against moral reason. It is gravely evil everywhere, in all situations and at all times. Bishops, please stop playing politics and teach the truth of the unchangeable Faith and morals as is your sacred duty.

it is a shame that more people don't go to Kibeho for pilgrimage. Unlike Medjugorje, it was recognized by the church, and the original visionaries are still there.
