You have festivals for cars, food, fashion, so why not for pilgrimages?
This is exactly what took place in Rome January 15th to 18th, an international festival devoted to all those people who want to get "on track". With the intention to contribute to spiritual growth worldwide, JOSP Fest, '(Journeys of the Spirit' Festival), is the first gathering of its kind dedicated to spiritual journeys, to inspire the public to visit the shrines in Europe and the Middle East.
This is one innovative way of living and sharing the faith. Organized by the Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi, an outreach of the Vicariate of Rome and organization of the Holy See, this fair of sorts includes exhibits of faith itineraries, virtual pilgrimages, themed displays, new technology, and publications from more than 80 participating countries. The theme for this unique festival, taken from a quote of St. Augustine, captures the pilgrimage experience well: "Sing and walk."
