The Feast of Saint Clare in Jerusalem.
Along the road from Jerusalem to Bethlehem, not far from Mount Zion, is situated the monastery of Saint Clare, founded at the end of the 18th century by the French nun Elisabeth of Calvary, and inhabited today by a lively community of 13 cloistered sisters, daughters of Saint Clare of Assisi.
With much emotion, many friends gathered together at the monastery to participate at the celebration for the feast of Saint Clare, in the year which is also the 8th centenary of the order's
foundation: first came the solemn vespers, on the evening of August 10, presided by the Custos, Fr. Pierbattista Pizzaballa, and then Holy Mass on the morning of August 11, presided by Mons. William Shomali, Auxiliary Bishop of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
