Are we to be "obedient" to a priest or bishop who tells up to get up off our knees when receiving Communion?
Are we to be obedient to a bishop who says openly that there is nothing wrong with homsexuality, disregarding the written word and our Catholic faith teaching?

Are we to be obedient to a bishop who says openly that there is nothing wrong with homsexuality, disregarding the written word and our Catholic faith teaching?

Did not our Lady say that the time would come when Cardinals will oppose Cardinals, bishops oppose bishops....

How can one be obedient to disobedience?

When priest and bishop, time and time Again say, "What they do in Rome, they do in Rome, and what we do here in America is because it is America! This has been going on for decades and has continued to build up to such destructiveness within our churches that the people just don't know anymore, they are getting (are) fed up, leaving the church.

This is why too, the Holy Father has come out with his Summorum Pontificum on the Tridentine Mass to be in all the parishes, which as usual, many bishops and priests are refusing! They are Disobedient and even resentful to the Holy Father and what he says. It is way past time that all Catholics take a stand for the true faith, at whatever cost. And I don't mean by putting money in the baskets of these defying novus ordo parishes that are everywhere.

Remember what Bishop Sheen said:

"Who is going to save our Church?

Not our bishops,

not our priests and religious.

It is up to you, the people.

You have the minds, the eyes, the ears to save the Church.

Your mission is to see that your

priests act like priests,

your bishops like bishops and

your religious act like religious."

We're fed up with the lies and the deceits of many "shepherds" within the church. And WE THE PEOPLE need to do what Bishop Sheen has said! As always, Pray for them and for our Church as She will remain forever,... and hopefully be restored to its former beauty and holiness once again.

Whoever released the letter of the bishop to the media did not help matters, to begin with.
Who do YOU think released it? And who do YOU think made subsequent damaging remarks about Fr. Pavone to the media?

The protests etc. are not organized by Fr. Pavone. He has demonstrated more class during the entire affair including more than his bishop.

These protests come from lay people who have had a belly full of puffy, pampered, poofters pretending to be “shepherds” living the high life in their own ivory towers and who do whatever the he*l they want knowing that they are accountable to nobody.

If I were in Amarillo, I would march with these people. Indeed, I would be one of the orgnaizers. During the march I would be the person carrying the biggest sign marching directly in front of the Bishop's residence/mansion.

And, if it turned out that that Pavone is dirty, then I'd humbly apoloigze for my actions. However, my hunch is that this tempest in a teapot is all about the $$$ and envy.

Charity Navigator, an organization that evaluates non-profit organizations, rates PFL very low for its efficiency. PFL's current rating shows that it spends 12.5% of its revenues on fundraising, and 23.4% on administrative costs. These are costs are much higher than what one finds in many other charitable organizations. Perhaps there is an explanation?

This conversation between a bishop and his diocesan priest should not be carried out in public.

And the highly public and contentious response is not helping the priest. Protesting at parishes during Mass? The priest should tell his "supporters" that this is not the kind of support that he needs or wants. Recourse to the Vatican is an appropriate measure, allowed by the Church. But trying to "pressure" a bishop with pickets and airplanes does not look like priestly respect and obedience to a lawful command.

Does the priest realize that he cannot incardinate in another diocese without the permission of the bishop of the diocese where he is already incardinated?

There are many women out there who thought very seriously about having an abortion, but for some reason did not. And today, they are so very happy that they chose to keep their baby! SO let us hope the same will happen to these parents. And that they will get through the difficult trials of what can be quite challenging in raising a handicapped child. This baby lived because God allowed him to. 🤗

One must wonder how bishops like this Mexican bishop Lopez ever got to become a bishop, let alone a priest. And did he belive this homosexualty should be accepted as normal when he entered the priesthood? And how many others, the same.Homosexuality is an abomination before the Lord, says Holy Scripture.

yes, hopefully this poor innocent baby has a loving home.

I expect that it will only be a few more days before the details of the Fr. Pavone saga are fully known. This case has been mishandled from the start and Bishop Zurek's decision to publicly humiliate Fr. Pavone was amateurish, spiteful and low class resembling more the behavior of one of Obama's union goons rather than a “Prince of the Church.”

What was the point for the bishop to make comments about this priest's ego? In addition, the word “suspended” in reference to Fr. Pavone was completely inaccurate. I find it curious when a bishop would so publicly and stridently reprimand a priest when money is involved but is silent when doctrine or abuses of the liturgy are concerned.

In his public rebuke and his reasons to “suspend” Father Frank A. Pavone from public ministry outside the Diocese of Amarillo, Bishop Zurek explained that, “My decision is the result of deep concerns regarding his stewardship of the finances of the Priests for Life (PFL) organization.”

However, Fr. Pavone responded by saying that "Priests for Life has consistently provided every financial document requested by Bishop Zurek, including annual financial audits, quarterly reports, management documents -- even entire check registers! Priests for Life has been completely transparent with Bishop Zurek and any other bishops who have requested information regarding our management and finances."

Somebody is lying and the question is “Who, and about what?”

However, even if guilty as charged (which has not been proven), out of respect for the man and his tireless work to save unborn babies, Fr. Pavone deserves better and the bishop should have extended him that courtesy. The whole affair appears to be something “personal” for the bishop and it stinks.

The good news, for Fr. Pavone, is that the pro-life/pro-Pavone supporters of Amarillo are 'taking it to the streets.'

“Pickets will be conducted at many of the diocese's 49 parish churches, with special emphasis on St. Laurence [the diocese’s former cathedral] and the nine other parish churches in the City of Amarillo proper,”

“Street pickets will be supplemented by the operation of a fleet of large billboard trucks bearing signs which will also depict aborted babies and urge Amarillo Catholics to tactfully contact Bishop Zurek to request that he ‘free Father Frank.’”

“The trucks will be accompanied by aircraft towing large aerial billboards which will also bear aborted baby imagery and exhortational text messages,” added Cunningham, who has been a longtime ally of Priests for Life. “These pickets will continue until Bishop Zurek releases Father Pavone from what amounts from ecclesiastical ‘house arrest.’”

One more note that may have some relevance to the case.

“Fr. Pavone’s suspension could not have come at a worse time for Priests for Life, which just this week launched a “Vote Pro-life Coalition” in anticipation of the 2012 elections. The coalition, organized by Priests for Life, includes more than three dozen national groups with plans for “Voter Registration Sundays” on May 27, July 1 and Sept. 9. “

On the other hand, we have the phenomenon of Liberation Theologians of the Latin World, who have pervaded the Latin American Church like a cancer. But, this does not explain the Mexican question. One waits to see how this will unfurl (with Spain being so saecular they have lost their stance of moral appeal).
