Homosex Demons? According to the British Daily Star Germanwings suicide-pilot Andreas Lubitz was haunted by secret homosex demons. According to the tabloid, gay rumours about the fitness fanatic’s personal life circulate across Germany. Lubitz’ relationship with a girlfriend broke down. He was taunted by pilot pals for previously being a “trolley dolly” airline steward and dubbed Tomato Andy – a derogatory gay slur. Lubitz enjoyed partying at the nearby nightclub Agostea in Koblenz, which holds boozy, circus-themed events involving drag queens and dwarves.

Hoping for War? Bishop Jean-Michel Faure who was consecrated two weeks ago by Bishop Richard Williamson spoke last Saturday to journalists at Santa Cruz Monastery in Nova Friburgo, Brazil. According to Reuters he said that – quote - "it is likely that in maybe one or two years we will have more consecrations," adding there were already two candidates. About the name of his group, Faure said: "I think we can call ourselves Roman Catholic first, secondly St Pius X, and now ... the Resistance." And: “If there is another World War ... maybe the Church will go back to the way it was before."

Against the Law Or Against Marriage? The Italian canon-lawyer Fr Ottavio De Bertolis has called for – quote – “more flexibility” in the application of canon law on marriage. The law was made for man, and not vice versa, he writes in Civiltà Cattolica, which happens to be a semi-official journal of the Secretary of State of His Holiness the Pope.

Fr Constantin Simon, a former Jesuit and former vice-rector of the Jesuit run Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome has become a monk of the Russian-Orthodox High Monastery of St. Peter in Moscow according to Interfax. Simon left the Jesuits and the Catholic Church in 2014 after 34 years as a priest. He was a professor of Slavic and Russian History and advisor of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity. Simon was born in 1955 in New Jersey.
