The 23rd international apostolic journey of Pope Benedict XVI will be to Latin America: Mexico, from March 23 to 25; and Cuba from March 26-28. His predecessor, Blessed John Paul II, made 5 trips to Mexico, which are featured in these images. The first trip was in 1979 for the General Conference of Latin American Bishops in Puebla. During this visit, Pope John Paul II reiterated the importance of presenting the entire Christian message of liberation and the full truth about the human person, which finds its fulfillment in Christ. In Mexico City, greeted by a huge crowd, John Paul II underlined that the Church expects full accordance with faith and life.
