Blasphemy! Advertisers mock Christianity in Pepsi, Doritos ad contest by Frannie Boyle - SFPA Member on January 3, 2011 Update 4:33 pm: The “Feed Your Flock” ad is not a top ten finalist for the Super Bowl advertisement; an earlier version of the post said it was a finalist. The ten finalists can be seen here. Pepsi and Doritos could have been walking a thin line in this new year. Check out one of ads submitted in their Crash the Super Bowl advertising contest by Media Wave Productions, “Feed the Flock.” In the commercial, a parish priest decides to start distributing Doritos and Pepsi products instead of Holy Communion in order to increase mass attendance. This commercial is not meant to be taken seriously, but I hope those running the competition understand how many Catholics and other Christians will be offended by its message. This young crusader will be abstaining from Pepsi 0 from now on (I never liked Doritos much). www.studentfreepress.net/archives/5518

Chalice cloths Chalice veil laid over the holy vessels There are also special linens which pertain to the Eucharist: The purificator (purificatorium or more anciently emunctorium) is a white linen cloth which is used to wipe the chalice after each communicant partakes. It is also used to wipe the chalice and paten after the ablutions which follow Communion. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altar_cloth
