Hugging Pope: On Saturday, Pope Francis concelebrated Mass with a group of young Jesuit priests who, against Canon Law, were dressed as laymen or worse. After Mass one of them, Fr Nicolò Mazza, asked the Pope for permission to hug him. Francis hugged him very strongly and said: “This is indeed a hug among true men.” Then he recalled how as a Jesuit he was taught to hug his confrère with a certain distance. Directed to Fr Mazza he added: “This was not o.k. I liked your hug more.”
Countercultural Diocese: Last Saturday, Nashville bishop David Choby ordained nine men to priests, setting a statewide record. Nashville is ranked eighth in the nation for its rate of converts. Many credit Bishop Choby with helping to bolster the priesthood while its decades-long decline continues at the national level. He has brought men to Nashville from throughout the world. Only one of the priests ordained Saturday was raised in Middle Tennessee. Five come from outside …More

If thou dost not conform to the law of the Church, thou shalt be as the heathen and the publican; see therefore that thou despise not the law of thy Mother; she has decreed what shall be the color and the style of thy clothes; OBSERVE HER RULES. She has prescribed simplicity and becomingness in priestly attire; COMPLY with Her rules. How many there are among my priests who ARE ASHAMED OF MY UNIFORM! They belong to the Royal Priesthood and they Disdain to wear a royal crown. They have renounced the world and yet they love to wear clothes of the most worldly pattern; they are my soldiers and scarcely have they enlisted and been enrolled when they rebel and cast aside My uniform. They are my servants yet they strive to please men; they are clerics and they appear as bridegrooms; they are of the world, therefore they live the world and the world loves them. O foolish men! They are esteemed indeed by worldlings, but they are an ABOMINATION IN MY SIGHT; THEY ARE ASHAMED OF ME BEFORE MEN; I SHALL BE ASHAMED OF THEM BEFORE MY FATHER WHO IS IN HEAVEN. 1 Corinthians 6:2-4
Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, matters pertaining to this life! If then you have such cases, why do you lay them before those who are least esteemed by the church?

St Bridget hears the devil tempting a certain bishop:

Of what concern is it to you how this or that person lives? Why should you offend and correct
those by whom you could be honored and loved? If they don't offend you and your loved ones, why should you care how they live or whether they offend God? If you are good yourself, why should you judge others? (3.2; cf. 4. 126).

St Bridget states that many priests follow this advice, to their own damnation. They ignore sin that should be corrected. They choose to forget, on account of their worldly and carnal
attachments, as well as inordinate concern for human respect, that reproving the sinner is a spiritual work of mercy the neglect of which they will be held accountable before God (3.15). She also accuses bishops of tolerating and ignoring the great scandal of priests living unchaste lives. (1.23). www.archive.org/…/RevelationsOfSt…

"JUDGE NOT BY APPEARANCES, BUT JUDGE RIGHTEOUSLY. " John 7:24

The bible when it says don't judge is for us NOT to be hypocrites... you can tell it is true when it says something about "blind leading the blind" pharesees were thekings of hypocrisy.

Everybody abuses this part in Matthew about not judging... BUT, didn't the apostles and comun people judge every word that came from the lips of our Lord through the Gospel, when Assasin and Apostol Paul went blind, the man who returned his sight had to make a judgement call, he told the Lord "hey this man is a killer are you sure you want me to go there and regain his sight?"

This HUGGING is not as big as when he said "Don't do religious proselytism" but yet it seems to me that everybody finds that WICKED LIE FROM.HELL, beautiful and logical, this hugging thing it's against tradition, which bergoglio likes to attack every time he can.

You must judge everythimg in life, food, situations and even people... apostol Paul says that everything that is in the dark we should bring to light, that there if we do it is a judgement call, DO NOT BE DECEIVED, we are witnessing the birth of an antipope, check your history there hasn't been 2 popes alive yet in which one is a true Vicar and the other is an antipope.

How can you see heresy if you don't judge for yourself, when everyone in the church seems to be not speaking agaisnt EVIL and the enemy attacking tradition, even Apostol Paul rebuked the first pope and because of that correction Peter change.

To everyone bewildered about the fact that the pope took a photo with priests that were dressed as laymen and even hugged one of them - aren´t we just a bit too picky on whom to condemn? I wonder if Jesus would pass all of your man-made laws - walking around in a simple robe, meeting (and maybe even hugging!) prostitutes, thieves, ordinary fishermen aso.

I understand your point of view but are you capable of understanding another view? Judge not or you shall be judged by your own measures. All of us are sinners and we need love, not condemnation.
The one who is closer to the light casts a greater shadow. Look at yourselves and start changing the world by changing yourself. The pope is doing the best he can. Maybe you should be in Rome guiding the Church instead of him if you think you know better.

jjjorge,
Joy in my heart is all I feel after seeing your post, It made me remember our dear Father Malachi Martin, and Fr O'connor... they quoted those same words that you so kindly posted, it is one thing we know, Indignation in heaven is big with us sinners, and also the Church for how pope Benedict who was appointed by God, was treated.

Some say he was a good pope some others say he was a bad pope, but I can tell you one thing he had that all the rest didn't... Courage, the motu propio was a sign of bravery, some were talking about the reform of the reform, Benedict wanted to go back to the roots, and I can prove it, he is the only pope who spoke agaist a document of vatican II, he spoke against the nostra atate saying "it is a dangerous document", another proof? When he shrugged off ecumenism by saying that the muslims ARE evil.

Almighty God is clearly permitting Bergoglio to introduce full apostasy, while traditionalists sit back in the "I will not obey this man wagon" while tradition and truth slowly but steady are being destroyed...

Has any pope or antipope, EVER... has said "Live and let live... don't do religious proselytism...or... who am.I to judge... or... Muslims with the Coran with the Faith of your fathers that it'll take you far"

Total apostasy looms, and it seems that everywhere, no one cares!!!

If you do traditional work in your church you will be laugh at, I told my priest to start doing latin mass, but he jokes about that, costa rica doesn't have a latin mass anymore and again anybody embracing tradition is looked like a terrorist...

HUGS? What's next a picnic?

Total apostasy and nobody says something, on the contrary if you say something they will erase your comments, or point a finger telling you evil sedevacantist, they all look the other way, but hey THANKS FOR YOUR KIND WORDS... Many Blessings.

"The most evident mark of God's anger, and the most terrible castigation He can inflict upon the world, is manifest when He permits His people to fall into the hands of a clergy who are more in name than in deed, priests who practice the cruelty of ravening wolves rather than the charity and affection of devoted shepherds. They abandon the things of God to devote themselves to the things of the world and, in their saintly calling of holiness, they spend their time in profane and worldly pursuits. When God permits such things, it is a very positive proof that He is thoroughly angry with His people and is visiting His most dreadful wrath upon them.

... That is why He cries unceasingly to Christians, "Return O ye revolting children ... and I will give you pastors according to My own heart". (Jer. 3:14,15) Thus, irregularities in the lives of priests constitute a scourge upon the people in consequence of sin." -Saint John Eudes

What can you expect from this man which said live and let live, and don't do religious proselytism... but hey some here wants to be hypocrites and expect the next to seat in Peter's throne to cancel all his doing, pray for him all you want, everybody is doing so, but he's still killing tradition and bashing the true faith, will Jesus when he comes back, will He find faith on earth? Blessings.

The 'Hug Daddy'...... Says something when priests, (in this case, Jesuits) feel comfortable posing with 'Hug Daddy' while in lay clothes. Disgraceful! The whole thing!

I do not think it is necessary to speak here of the great dignity of His Holiness or to show how praiseworthy he is as Vicar of Christ.
