“Make sure you have the” – the weblog cathcon.blogspot.com warned on Tuesday the producers of websites that consider themselves Catholic. The World Catholic Association for Communication has issue a statement criticizing an increasing number of "private" Catholic internet sites like among others Gloria.TV. According to cathcon the warning has been seized on by the Diocese of Linz and the Archdiocese of Vienna:– cathcon replies - Quote: “No apologies! Cathcon carries on - as I am sure the esteemed websites above will do. We are in the business of truth and reality - what business is the Diocese of Linz in? I know! Pitta bread supply!”

The Holy Father has appointed a new secretary for the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei according to the Italian Vatican-watcher Andrea Tornielli, It is the 57-years-old Vatican Monsignor Guido Pozzo. Pozzo has been for many years an official of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. He is also the deputy secretary of the International Theological Commission. His official appointment seems to be imminent.

Cardinal Keith Patrick O’Brien received a great welcome as he arrived as the Papal Legate of Pope Benedict XVI at St Columba’s Church Long Tower in Northern Ireland on the feast of St Columba. The Cardinal arrived in cappa magna, seen in theses parts for the first time since Vatican II. The cappa magna used by the Cardinal initially belonged to Cardinal Heard, the first Scots-born Cardinal appointed since the Reformation.
