Satan: During yesterday’s Angelus the Pope referred to the temptations of Christ and declared that – quote - “we need to renounce Satan and all his works.” And: “In the moment of our temptations, no argument with Satan.” Jesus did not discuss with Satan – quote: “He knows well that with Satan one cannot dialogue because he is clever.”

Strange Questions: Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York said Sunday to NBC that Pope Francis wants the bishops to – quote - “look into same-sex unions and to see the reasons that have driven them.” And: “Rather than quickly condemn them… let's just ask the questions as to why that has appealed to certain people." Gloria.tv wonders what answers Dolan expects to these questions.

Cultural Warrior: Brave Madison Bishop Robert Morlino said that Pope Francis has made him a stronger culture warrior. He confessed that the Pope is causing him to speak out even more forcefully on the Church’s opposition to abortion, artificial contraception, stem cell research and homosexual acts.

Bishop Morlino said he understands differences between the Church in the U.S. and in Argentina. As a bishop in Buenos Aires, the pope – quote – “wasn’t dealing so much with doctrinal dissent, and, of course, that would make a big difference for how one does things in the U. S. versus how one would do things in Argentina.” Therefore Francis can focus more on speaking about “bread-and-butter” issues, such as helping the poor.
