Lyon Seminary Takes a New Path

France

Recently there was a meeting of French faithful attached to the old rite, the rencontre pour l’Unité Catholique, in Versailles. In the course of the meeting, Fr. Laurent Spriet of the Association Totus Tuus announced, that next year, Cardinal Barbarin of Lyon will open his seminary to the old rite. It will be both taught and celebrated there. This is the first diocese in France after Toulon, which offers this possibility to its seminarians. Cardinal Barbarin's project will go further than that of Toulon: Not only will the seminarians have the opportunity to be formed according to the old rite. This form will also be celebrated every day in the seminary, open to all seminarians, including those of the ordinary form.

Ex-Bishop and Paraguayan President Fernando Armindo Lugo Méndez is facing allegations that he fathered a woman born in 1987. Ordained a priest of the Society of the Divine Word in 1977, Lugo was consecrated Bishop of San Pedro in 1994. He resigned from office in 2005 and was laicized in 2008 upon election as the nation’s president.

US-Sisters: Almost Universal Resistance to the Vatican

Vatican

Many superiors of women's religious orders in the US are refusing to answer questions submitted to them as part of the Vatican's apostolic investigation, the National Catholic Reporter reveals. One informed source told the Reporter that only about 1% of the religious contacted had responded by a November 20 deadline to the questions submitted by Mother Mary Clare Millea, who is leading the Vatican inquiry. Another source quoted anonymously in the Reporter's account boasted of "almost universal resistance" to the Vatican. The apostolic investigation is being conducted to gauge the health and vitality of women's religious orders in the US, and to answer questions about their loyalty to the faith and the authority of the Holy See. Many prominent American nuns have expressed resentment about the inquiry, and a few have recommended a policy of non-cooperation with the apostolic investigation.

I agree with Fr. Pope...although was it the "traditional orders" that needed an "apostolic investigation" ? It appears the liberal man-haters time is about up. Traditionalism is back on the rise...Deo Gratias! 😉

I am sure the Traditional orders of nuns here in the USA have fully complied. It iis only the liberalized orders which have failed to comply. The National Catholic Reporter is called by most faithful catholics the "National Catholic Distorter"
