Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin has pledged that “there will be no problems and delays” that would hinder a plan by the Russian Orthodox Church to construct 200 churches in the Russian capital. The city of 10.5 million is in “the last place in terms of the ratio between the number of churches and the number of Orthodox believers,” Patriarch Kirill said. “Two hundred churches will not fully solve the problem, but they will change the situation radically, because we will have the chance to work with the people living within walking distance from the churches.”

One serious and embarassing shortcomming of many Catholkis is that that don't have a working knowledge of what is written in the bible simply because they don't read their bible. If one truly believes that Scripture is the inspired Word of God, then it demonstrates a lack of faith not to dedicate oneslef to a daily reading of Scripture.

With respect to Msgr. Stuart Swetland, I woder if he's aware that David rejoiced at the death of Goliath, and indeed at the defeat of many of his enemies, and while David was not perfect I have never sensed in the Bible nor heard from even pacifist Cathholic preachers that his rejoicing was wrong. The Israelites also rejoiced at the destruction of Pharaoh’s army, and praised God for it.
Shoud the world rejoice in its small victory? Yes. But until the war with militant Islamic barbarians is over, we must wait to celebrate. But, like David, we will eventually celebrate.
