Shrine of the holy Apostles Philip and James.
"Lord God, you give us the joy every year of celebrating the feast day of the apostles Philip and James. Make us partners, by their prayers, in the passion and resurrection of your only-begotten Son, so that we may come to the eternal vision of your glory. [We make our prayer] through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen." The apostles Philip and James are buried here in the basilica of the Holy Apostles (Santi Apostoli) in Rome. The frescoes, which imitate an early Christian style date from a 19th-century restoration. Today, 3 May, is their feast day.
