Papal Blessings: Pope Francis has stopped the selling of parchments with Papal blessings in 50 shops around the Vatican. The blessings are certified by the Vatican Elemosineria apostolica for three Euros which go to the Pope’s relief organisation. According to the quality of the parchments on which they are written, they could be charged by the shops 50 Euros and more. Now, the parchments are exclusively available in the Vatican.
Article Removed: On September 4th Monsignor Charles Pope, a pastor in the Archdiocese of Washington, posted a strong critic of the New York St. Patrick’s Day Parade which he called – quote – “a farcical and hateful ridicule of the faith that St. Patrick preached”. Pope did not mention the fact that New York Cardinal Tim Dolan will be the Parade’s Grand Marshal albeit the fact that homosex groups will officially participate in it. Nevertheless, a day later the article was removed by the Archdiocese of Washington.
