Details Behind the Viganó Revelations

The Italian journalist Aldo Maria Valli who helped whistle-blower Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganó to write his statements, revealed details in an interview with Riscossa Cristiana. Valli describes Viganó as not an easy character. Quote: “He is not able to be empathic, as they say today and he did not do anything to ingratiate himself with me.” But Valli was impressed by Viganó’s suffering and fear of God.

Throrough Interrogation

Archbishop Viganó asked Valli to proofread a draft of his August statement in front of him, and to ask necessary questions. Valli says that he subjected Viganó to a – quote “thorough interrogation”. Viganó never pulled back, was never confused nor did he contradicted himself. Only sometimes he siad, “I do not remember this.”

“We All Had the Same Impression”

The first two meetings with Viganó took place in Valli’s apartment because the journalist wanted his wife and children to be present in order to have their feedback. Quote: “We all had the same impression: before us was a man who spoke of his death, the last judgment, and eternal life, a man deeply grieved not for himself but for the state of the Church.”

A Serious Man

Valli describes Archbishop Viganó as a gifted administrator and manager, serious, with a big sense of duty, never accommodating. As a Secretary General of the Vatican City Governatorate he checked the details of bills and orders and battled against a rampant mismanagement and cronyism, making for himself many enemies.

The Reason for the Crisis

Lack of Faith is for Valli the origin of the present Church crisis. Quote, “We have pastors who speak like sociologists, economists, psychologists, but they rarely speak of God. All problems, up to the abuses, arise from this dramatic lack of faith.”

Vatican Does Not Wish a Conversion

The Vatican non-reaction to Viganò did not surprise Valli who, in the Vatican, sees no desire for a spiritual conversion. He calls Pope Francis’ explanation of the abuses with “clericalism” an abstraction. Quote, “It is a bit like saying in the face of the wrongs of this world that the fault lies with society. This does not mean anything.”

Amoris Laetitia Was the Eye-Opener

Amoris Laetitia opened Valli’s eyes because it introduced subjectivism into the Church’s thought. Quote, “This is an attempt to put man in the place of God.” The fact that it was done in a surreptitious manner through a footnote, alarmed Valli. Quote, “I saw in such behaviour a malice that does not belong and cannot belong to our mother Church.”

Although the above quotes are from Italian journalist Aldo Maria Valli talking about his meetings with Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganó, the same sentiments could very easily be attributed to Gloria.tv’s very own Don Reto Nay. The only exclusion would be the line, making for himself many enemies. I do not believe Don Reto Nay has any enemies much less “many enemies.👌
