When does boar hunting season start?

:D Have you ever looked into what's involved for securing a hunting license in Germany? The exam for it is probably the single most difficult one in the world. The failure rate is high. It's specifically designed to flunk people out.

Thank God for the USA, eh? Anway... what kind boar-huntin' method did ya' have in mind, NN?

Down in Tennessee, people still hunt those big ole' silver-whiskered bores the ole' fashioned way... usin' a pack of dawgs an' somefin' like this.

Cardinal Marx...lol, the irony in that name.

German bishops don't care because the state supports them and that's what's really important, right?

Does anyone know off hand if the tax applies to the SSPX, or if you can designate FSSP only?

The article also highights another reason: money. "The Church in Germany is largely funded through a tax collected by the government. ...and this is the secret of the German Church's staggering clout in shaping Chuch policy. It seems many modern Germans realize their wealthy churches are spiritually bankrupt and simply refuse to pay for "non-essentials" anymore.

With the majority of Germans being self loathing liberals in agreement with their bishops on social and political issues, they don't mind paying the tax.

I doubt it. ;-) One interesting truism about liberals world-wide (especially wealthy ones) is they're the worst sort of hypocrites. It's why they always get along so well on the international scene.

Applied to taxes, this means they're enthusiastic about everyone else paying "their fair share". Which, unironically, includes their fair share as well.

When it comes to time for them to pay for their own, off to the CPA they go! :D Rich people don't get rich or stay rich by being naive.

They love complaining about how "the rich" should be taxed, but they almost never see themselves as "rich". The "rich" are conservatives, particularly white, politically conservative business-owners who became successful through intelligence and hard work.

Even when they're forced to acknowledge their wealth, hey, that's different. They deserve it because (whatever). There's always a justification ready.
