This statue of the Virgin of Fatima is by the Dominican priest and sculptor, Fr Thomas McGlynn OP. It is said that "from February 8 to February 14 in 1947, Tom was no longer an artist, but a craftsman pliable in the hands of this simple peasant girl from Fatima. In his humility and deep faith, Tom subjected his will and his artistic judgment to Lucy’s." Under the direction of Sr Lucia dos Santos, one of the visionaries of Fatima, Fr Thomas sculpted this statue of Our Lady as she appeared in Fatima in 1917. Today, 13 May, is the anniversary of the 1st apparition, and the feast of Our Lady of Fatima.

Regarding the question below on why Our Lady's Hand is black:
It was not always like this. Friends, who frequent Fatima, tell me it was black around the time of the celebration of the Centennial in 2017. It has stayed that way ever since. Traditional Catholics in Fatima report that there are many blasphemies going on daily at the Shrine against Our Lady and the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament - due to the clergy presently in charge. Many have wondered if this "blackness" on Our Lady's Hand is a sign of heaven's impending judgement. You might also note that the "Mass" on May 13 this past week, offered by Cardinal Marto on the outdoor altar beneath this statue, was totally shrouded in a dense fog -- there is a post about this somewhere on this site. Cardinal Marto is a big defender of Amoris Laetitia and has also said, with Francis, that this virus has nothing to do with being a chastisement for sin. In short, he has gutted Our Lady's warning at Fatima that we must stop offending Her Son, "Who is already so offended!"

Does anyone know the reason for the black colour on the right hand?

Does anyone know why this statue looks so very different than the usual " Pilgram" statue? The one with a cloud at the feet, large very dark eyes , etc? I actually prefer the facial features on this representation. Any one know the significance of the star at the bottom of her gown? and why some have 5 pointed star, others 6 point, 8 point?

Thank you @Lawrence OP-Fan for your beautiful posts. The artwork is always amazing and not the usual " cut and paste" popular ( and many times average) artwork. The accompanying commentary is always well written and generally uplifting. Which can be a nice break from many of the heartbreaking news articles that , very sadly, due to the state of the Church , the norm.

It's fortunate The Blessed Mother appeared at a time when such artists were still motivated by their faith and had the talent to give their faith tangible form.
