Sycophancy Rewarded: Francis' Court Journalist New Editor-in Chief of Vatican Communications
Pope Francis appointed Andrea Tornielli on December 18 as the Editorial Director (Editor-in-Chief) of the Vatican Dicastery for Communication.
In the past, Tornielli, employed by the oligarch newspaper La Stampa, acted as Francis’ de facto press speaker and court journalist.
He has been a key-element in the Vatican's spin-machine trying to discredit whistleblower Carlo Maria Viganò.
Twitter User “Catholic Sat” points out that Tornielli has been rewarded for these efforts. He further mentions that Francis’ reform of Vatican Communications has been an “unmitigated disaster”.
One can suppose that Tornielli will take over VaticanNews.va.
