The old rite monastery Saint Benoît in La Garde-Freinet in the diocese of Fréjus-Toulon, France, will celebrate this year's Holy Week according to the 1953 liturgical books which predate Pius XII's [failed] reform of the Holy Week liturgy.
According to the monastery’s newsletter (February 28), the Vatican granted them the permission on 17 January. The renowned Australia-born liturgical scholar and friend of Benedict XVI, Fr Alcuin Reid, is monk of Saint Benoît.
The same permission was already granted to two dozen parishes of the Society of St Peter.
