Heleno Severo Alves, 84, died on November 12 after he was shot a day earlier in the Cathedral of Campinas, Brazil.
A gunman had opened fire at the faithful who were assisting Mass. Police responded very quickly to the attack. The gunman was hit in the side by police, before shooting himself into his head.
The criminal was identified as Fernando Gandolfo Euler, 49, a systems analyst with psychological problems. He killed five male faithful and wounded other three.
