Vatican Calls Manipulation "Art"

The Italian news agency ANSA was told by “authoritative Vatican sources” that there has [allegedly] been "no manipulation" of a selectively published letter of Benedict XVI in which he comments on a series of books dedicated to Pope Francis' "theology”.

Much likely the source of this statement is the perpetrator himself, Monsignor Dario Edoardo Viganò, the Prefect of the Secretariat for Communications.

The source claimed that the photo published by VaticanNews “is a clearly artistic photo" adding that unreadable parts were read by Msgr Viganò publicly during a press conference. Nevertheless, AP reported on Wednesday, that the Vatican "admitted” the manipulation which implies the violation of journalistic standards.
