Francis Does Not Remove For Incompetence - So Why Had Viganò to Go?

Monsignor Dario Viganò’s fate is different from the fate of other troubled prelates, writes pro-Francis John Allen on cruxnow.com (March 22).

He notices that Francis typical stands by the people he has chosen, when they come under fire.

Allen names Chilean Bishop Juan Barros criticised for allegedly having covered up sexual abuses, and Monsignor Gian Battista Ricca, a high-placed prelate in the Vatican bank and director of Casa Santa Marta, who in the past had problems with homosexual behavour.

So the question remains why Viganò had to go.

There are even more examples of persons not fired,
* those responsible for the appointment of pro-abortion or pro-contraception academics to the Pontifical Academy for Life,
* the official responsible for protocol who gave a papal knighthood to a militant Dutch pro-abortion politician,
* the Vatican priest caught having homosexual drug-fueled parties at the Holy Office
