Argentinean Archbishop Víctor Manuel Fernández, Pope Francis' personal theologian, said that his master is unimpressed by criticisms pronounced against him.
Talking to the radical Spanish webpage Religión Digital (December 7) Fernández added that Francis does not lose his sleep over criticisms that he is a “heretic or schismatic”. It is unclear, whom Fernández has in mind. To my knowledge none of Francis’ important critics have made such claims.
But since Fernández has brought it up: As in the case of Pope Honorius I (+638) only a future Council will be able to authoritatively answer Fernández' innuendo. Archbishop Fernández should know this.

Councils are not the only means by which truth and reason triumph over error and impiety.

This is the problem with the Catholic Church: our collective Catholic conscience is formed by councils or by committee. When councils define dogma ie Council of Trent that is the exception. However, we already have the tools to make an informed decision about Catholic teaching. So no committee is necessary. Get on with it and fulfill your role as a priest. That is what we expect from the clergy.

A man can NOT be against Christ's teachings and at the same time, be the head teacher of Christ's Church.
No need of a panel of bellowing theologians for this predicament.

Which Dogma did he not break? And if BXVI is pope, surely should look like one to the "blind", then there is another heresy breaking of Petrine Office. Which Dogma did he not break? And if BXVI is pope, surely should look like one to the "blind", then there is another heresy breaking of Petrine Office. Therefore declaration by Council (perfect or imperfect) is more than urgent. (unless one pope or other antipope declares himself which is less probable)
