Pope Francis' mediocre theological advisor, Archbishop Víctor Manuel Fernández, rector of the Catholic University in Buenos Aires, issued a defence of "Amoris Laetitia" in Medellín, the theology journal of the Latin-American Bishops’ Conference.
Fernández claims that Francis gave an "authoritative interpretation" of the controversial chapter eight of Amoris Laetitia, which seems to allow Communion for adulterers. He refers to a September 2016 letter which Francis wrote to the bishops of Buenos Aires. But this letter, instead of removing doubts about the orthodoxy of Amoris Laetitia, sheds doubts on Francis' orthodoxy.
Then, Fernández claims that general moral laws are incapable of addressing "each and every" situation, but at the end of the day according to Fernández every adulterer has de facto a legitimate access to Holy Communion, which is a heretical position.
